A family heirloom?

When I was a little girl, every year we would set up the nativity set under our Christmas tree. I would spend so much time rearranging the pieces until I thought they were just right. On Christmas morning my brother and I would sing Happy Birthday to the baby Jesus before we could open our presents.

When my father passed away the nativity set was at my brother's house since that's where my dad had been living. After my brother passed away my sister in law gave it to me. This is the only thing I have from my childhood and it's a real treasure.

Yes, a true family heirloom! And it is in good shape, considering how old it is.

That is a treasure.
I always put the wise men in another room traveling because they didn't see baby Jesus for a couple of years. :)

It is a beautiful Nativity Ann, and such a precious family heirloom. Thanks for sharing the story too. Gives it a lot of meaning in so many ways.

That is sweet that you would sing Happy Birthday to baby Jesus. It is beautiful and the figurines are very similar to the one I have. I didn't get it out this year but what a treasure to own.
