Getting old is no fun

The aches and pains seem to be adding up all the time. Since I've been off work I've not kept up with exercising and my knees seem to have been getting worse. On days when they get really bad I'll use an ice pack which seems to help. Usually it's only one knee or the other but sometimes it's double trouble.

That's too bad!

Oh gosh. This is so strange to me. They didn't bother you when you stood all the time at the bakery, and now they do!

Perhaps some targeted exercises would help. It's miserable when bits of you hurt.

Ice is amazing for the knees....I think as we age, we all experience the big knee issues. I have a friend that just had double knee replacements this summer...she is doing well.. Hope yours feel better

Ann I am sorry but I know how active you were so I guess the Knees know too. Happy the ice helps. Have you ever tried Biofreeze Professional strength roll on? The Professional strength has deep kelly green on the label. It is quite helpful.
Hugs to you and your faithful companion Gibbs

Yep! You know I understand, kiddo. They have various salves & creams on the market now. The latest one I've read about & are thinking about trying is Salonpas. It's a patch & amongst other things has 4% lidocaine in it. Will it go beyond the surface into the joint itself? I don't know but I'm thinking about trying it. I'll let you know. Love, Andrea xoxo

It's not what you want to hear...but the secret is to MOVE. Keep moving. Walk, do squats to build up the muscles around your knees, use weights...even light ones when you do squats. It is a game changer, I promise you. The more you build up the muscles that support your knees, the less knee pain you will have. Sitting and not moving is the worst thing for our bodies.

I'm sorry to hear that. I have to say, that when had to give up bowling because of my osteoartritis all my medical issues started. I need that time out of the house and I would run all my errands.

Oh NO! You did all that standing at your old job, rested for a couple of months, and now heading back to work - and your knees hurt. Always something.

I am very sorry you are having knee pain. I am still having issues on getting around. My doctor encouraged more exercise which I am trying to do more of. She told me ‘motion is lotion’. I have started doing chair exercises too and there are lots of exercises on Instagram for people who are older. I follow quite a few people on there.

Oh Ann I’m so sorry your knees are bothering you. Aging makes us humble & achy!😉

Oh that is such a true statement. Seems like there is always something that doesn't feel quite like it use to. - Hoping your knees are feeling better now. I'm waiting for cooler weather to start walking again.
