I tried this once before and it did pretty well. I thought I would give it a try again. You take celery and cut the bottom off. Then you just put it in a dish of water and watch it grow.
It only took a couple days to get to this point.
After it gets going you can put it in a pot with dirt. The last time I did it, it got pretty tall but didn't really grow outwards. I doubt that you could get another think of celery out of it but it's a fun experiment.

Yikes, I had no idea! You find the coolest things!
I like that! I'll try it to see what happens, it's fun to see things grow.
I often do this - it's fun.
I might just try this. Popping in to say hi
I've done that with Romaine lettuce before but not celery!
I've done that before with celery and it is cool.

Could you eat the celery stalks?
WTG Love it well I don't love raw celery but I do love the experiment

Fun indeed, Ann. It's always fun to watch anything grow. If you do this in late winter or early spring, could you plant this outside? Love, Andrea xoxo
I've done this before too. I'm going to do it again. :)
