Red White and Blue

Red, white and blue aren't just for the 4th of July and other patriotic holidays. It's a great color combination that is good any time of the year.

I've was working on a little project right before Memorial day and it's almost finished but not quite.
Luckily I already had some red, white and blue spray paint left over from something else.

I bought a big package of clothespins and wire wreath form and I was ready to go. The wind even died down enough for me to take this outside to spray. The wreath form was green so I painted that white. Then I painted some of the clothespins blue, some white and some red.

Once they were dry I started clipping them on to the wreath form.

And here  is what it looks like right now. The inspiration for this project came from Cats Craft Room. She added stars to the blue section and I think I'm going to do the same thing to give it a little something extra. She also has hers hanging with a white ribbon which dresses it up a bit more too.
I didn't clip my clothespins on the same way that she did. For some reason it just wasn't looking right when I did it her way. It's easily changed though if I decide to try it again since these aren't glued on at all.

Very very cool, can't wait to see the finished wreath! And you could make them for any occasion, just change the colors.

Did you end up adding stars to yours as well? The stars really make it all come together and stand out. Great job on your part!

waiting to see the stars when you add them..i love the 3rd photo down, the macro of the clothes pins.. beautiful.. and just in time for 4th of July...a great way to put out a flag without hanging one.

Hmmm...make all the clothes pins red and white and suspend a solid blue star in the center with small white stars on the blue star...?

That looks really cool and it even looks like a craft project I could handle. I like the fact that there is no gluing.

I can see it with some sprays of those glittery star garland thingies on it like fireworks. I like it.
