Back to crafting today. This project was inspired (more like almost completely copied) from a project done by Alyssabeth's Vintage
Her version was made from an empty oatmeal container and I used a deli soup container.
I brought home the soup containers from work. Since the tops were black I didn't have to do anything with that. The lids also have convenient little markings on the top where I poked holes to put the wire in the crows feet through to attach it to the lid. The crows were found at Dollar Tree. That store is awesome for craft supplies.
The container bottom was covered with ripped book pages then grunged up with brown shoe polish.

Quoth The Raven "Make more, Make more!!
Cute project and I love that crow . . . I haven't been to a Dollar Tree in months. I guess it's time for a trip :)
I love that crow! I like how you grunged up those book pages and used them to cover the container!
What an interesting project - your mind is full of creativity! xx
What a cool craft project! You are very crafty Ann!
I could use that crow for my scarecrow project.
I thought you'd made the crow from papier mache.. until I read further down.
I love this, its quirky.
Just a thought for you, we did actually make birds like this from papier mache once. we made a wire body and then covered it with strips, they looked good in the garden once varnished in yaught varnish.

Oh, I really, really love this!...:)JP
Very nice! What a great reuse! I love to look through Dollar Tree for craft items. It's amazing what you can find!

Saw both the posts, both are great
Regards :)
A bunch of those on the porch rail would be spooky. Someone on a road I drive has a bunch of plastic yard crows. They rearrange them every so often into new configurations. It's weird.
Nice! I think some Poe poetry is in order!
I'm sure Duke helped you with this right? I'm sure he did. Too cute.
Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. ☺
I have no idea what the purpose of such a thing is but it is very neat. Bits and pieces of Poe's poem "The Raven" might have added to the theme...
A porta-potty for crows... Surely you are on the cutting edge of something.
Never More Never More... are you putting Halloween candy in this? this would be a great gift to take to a Halloween party or to a nursing home resident. Jake would attack it i am sure, what did Master Duke think?
Pretty clever project! You're very resourceful in addition to being so crafty! I go into Dollar Tree and see junk and you find things to be made into treasures.
You are the best crafter/artist I have ever seen....and that is the truth.
So fun, maybe look for some Poe books to use "The Raven."
Did Duke stare at this or try to get it?? It looks real!
Cute project!
I love this! The crow or raven is my favorite icon in the Fall. It screams cooler weather, spooky and pumpkin patches to me :)
My, you have been very productive of late. This is great, love the fact that the tops were already black. You could use it as a treat box or to hold jewelry... wait, Halloween theme, maybe spiders crawling around and poking out of the lid - lol.
Lucky find of the "crow"
Hugs, antonella :-)
