Ouch

I'm sitting here feeling sorry for myself because it hurts too much to stand. Lately I've had problems with heel pain. Standing for 8 hours a day on hard floors is killing me. When I get home after work I don't want to move because it just hurts too much to walk. I bought some insoles the other day that are supposed to be for heel pain. I wore them to work on Sunday and not only did my heels still hurt but my arches were killing me too.
Everything I've read says to avoid standing for long periods of time. HA HA HA. Ok so what am I supposed to do? Can't quit my job and I don't have the luxury of sitting down on the job. I've also read to try and ice them for 20 minutes, 3 times a day. I can see that going over well at work too. NOT.

To make me feel better I found this cute kitty picture on Snappygoat.com

Go to a podiatrist! They know everything about feet. When anything is wrong with your feet, the doctors here refer us to one. They handle everything about feet! Nails, breaks, sprains, insoles. Ours just made Phil an insole for a about $3.00, and it is really helping. We go to him every couple of months, and he cuts my nails, too. Don't try home remedies, you can really injure your feet. Lecture over. This picture is adorable!!

I've never been to a podiatrist, but it might really benefit you to see one. I don't think it would hurt to soak your feet in epsom salt at night until you can make an appt. That is the cutest picture.

I am so sorry Ann. Is it heel spurs? I had those in both feet and in the late 90s I had surgery and I don't have an issue with them. Take care.

It was rough doing an 8 hour stand up job when I was young; no way could I have done it my whole life. I'm so sorry you are stuck between a rock and a hard place on this. :: hugs ::

Yup, doctor, doctor - post haste! And not to be too big of a Debbie Downer, this goes on too long on then it will be your knees and your back - the foot pain will throw off your gait, posture - Do not fool around with this! DOCTOR, DOCTOR.

Ann, I am so sorry to hear about your heel pain. I have had many jobs where I was on my feet all day and it can be miserable. I do hope that you find some relief. On the brighter side, I am having a Give-A-Way and would love for you to come over and get your name in the hat. Feel free to send your blogging friends over as well . . . the more the merrier.
Oh, I'm sure that the bakery is overly busy this time of the year, too. I wish I had an answer for you . . . I'm adding you to my prayers.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Connie :)

I agree with everyone else...please go to the foot doctor. Like Grace said...feet probs move onto knees, hips, and back. I say this as I head into bunion surgery tomorrow. There may be a really easy solution to your problem and you will be glad you went.
