An agonizing undertaking

Agonizing may be a little over dramatic but I liked the sound of it. One of the girls at work is having a birthday on Monday so I wanted to make her a card.
Of course to do this I must make a mess of my desk

Maybe it was the cold or the lack of sunshine but I had the hardest time coming up with what to do for this card.

After several attempts and design changes I finally ended up with this.
After I cut out the cake and stand I dressed them up a bit. I used metallic pens on the stand, glitter pens on the candle flames and some extreme glitter paint on the cake and Happy Birthday. Also to make the happy birthday stand out a bit more I used a green pen to outline the letters. Then I cut a second one from craft foam and layered it underneath for a little added dimension.

There were a couple other things I wanted to make to go with the card but didn't get around to them last night. Maybe today when I come home from work.

It is so professional looking! Like I went to a store and paid at least five dollars for it.

I agree with our Sister Ginny's comment 100 percent. i rarely buy a card, yesterday i was browsing for a card to put money in to send to my son for his birthday. i picked the perfect card and it was 7.00. i nearly fainted. i am sure he would rather me add 7.00 to the amount inside than pay that for the card. i bought a 99 cent one instead... i think she will love this card...

You have an extremely well developed right side of your brain, my dear. You are sooooo creative, Ann, and I think that comes from exercising that right side often. Keep up the good work and thank you so much for sharing. I love seeing the pictures of the things you create. Lovingly~ Andrea xxx

Laughed at one couple on TV who went to the store, picked Valentines for each other, shared and then put them back. A tradition for 26 years.LOL

Great job....I love getting and giving handmade gifts but I don't usually get handmade cards. I would think that would be so awesome. Oops...I take that back, I have a friend in OH that is a Photographer and she makes me cards out of her prints. It it cool. Great job on that card, I am sure your co worker will love it..

When you make a card it means so much more than a store bought card. You're a nice person, Ann.

Have a fabulous day. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
