The nativity

I set this up on my hutch and didnt have room for the manger

This is the set we had when I was growing up minus some sheep and camels that didn't survive the hot attic that they used to be stored in. I think my parents had this before I was born because I have a picture of me on my first Christmas sitting in front of the tree and this set is in the background

It is beautiful, and would likely cost a fortune today if you could find it new in a store.

I think it's neat you have it after all those years. It's rich in meaning and invaluable.

How awesome is that? To have it all these years. I don't recall you ever showing this to us before. What a treasure!

it is really beautiful, I love the colors and that is the perfect CAVE for them to be in. i have read in the past, the manger was in a cave unlike what they put them in for us.

So beautiful and I am adding a manger scene to my list of 2021 Christmas purchases. I had one and I must have given it to my daughter or something broke and I tossed it thinking that I would buy another and never did.

That is beautiful and looks good on the hutch. I have one I bought from Home Interiors (remember them?) a long time ago. I haven't set it up in years though.

This is the exact same set I had as a child, Ann! I still have some of the pieces but many are gone now. I've piecemealed a nativity set together over time but they never came all together in one set... and I like it that way. I think I even have 5 wise men!! *lol* ~Andrea xoxo

That is a lovely nativity. I have several and love each one dearly. You are blessed to have these pieces of your childhood memories. how exciting. Having done the Princess House business for years when hand blown and lead crystal were their mainstream (today 20, 40, 60 QT Stockpots! ) I have a beautiful lead crystal nativity . I love the pieces are hollow inside so you can set them across a string of lights for extra glow. This year it was too cold to get into our shed and redo all the Christmas decor boxes so I am going to hunt those pieces up and put them in my china hutch for 2021. Love my nativity sets. I really love yours too. Thanks for sharing and thanks for your kind comments to me. HUGS and LOVE this beautiful holiday season.

Ginny, It's not in the best of shape. Lots of nicks, the donkey is missing an ear and one of the shepherds has a hole in his neck but I still love it

CheerfulMonk I agree. It was at my brothers house for a long time then a couple years after my brother passed away my sister in law gave it to me.

Anni, I think I may have posted it a couple years ago when my sister in law gave it to me. Her and my brother had it since my dad lived with them for a while before he died. After my brother passed away she gave it to me.

Ella, absolutely

Carol I've always loved them. I had a real small one years ago that ended up broken and I never got another

Andrea This used to have camels and sheep. I remember one year pulling this out of the attic to set it up and the camels had all melted in the heat during the summer. 5 wise men sounds cool. More gifts for the baby Jesus...lol

MyTatas Cottage, thanks I love this set

How cool to have the nativity set from your childhood. It is very pretty with all the sculpting and colors.

I think we had the exact same nativity when I was growing up! We had a free-standing manger that was wired with lights. It was like a whole low table made especially for the nativity set!

Nice that you have that as a remembrance of your family.

I have this set from my parents. I didn't get it out this year but I can't believe it's the same one.
