Misc. thoughts.

Yesterday at work I was giving the cashier his break. A customer walked in and motioned for me to come over and said he wanted to show me something. He walked out the door and pointed down by the other door.

Tuesday I did get a hold of a plumber. He stopped that night to take a look. He said he was going to see if he could get a cartridge? for it. He said he should be able to because what I had was a delta. (I'm totally lost on what he's talking about but that's ok) The bad news is that if he can't, there is no access to the plumbing. They would have to take the tub and attached surround out to access the plumbing for the tub. Keep fingers crossed.

I was a bit surprised at how much anxiety I was feeling over trying to decide who to call about the plumbing problem. It's times like that, I really hate living alone and having to take care of any and everything that happens around here.

I totally forgot about calling and making an appointment for my yearly vehicle inspection. It has to be done by the end of the month and I also need an oil change. I also have to call the dentist before the end of the week to let them know how I'm doing. I'm thinking I should be good to go for a while now. Everything seems to be going fine.

My weekly routine for garbage day is to get home from work on Tuesday and drag the garbage can to the curb for it to be picked up Wednesday morning. Yesterday I got home from work, got the garbage can out to the curb and realized it was actually Wednesday and garbage had already been picked up. Since I was off on Tuesday I guess it felt like Monday and it never occurred to me that I needed to take the garbage out. It's a good thing I have very little garbage every week.

I have been searching and searching on line, and I fianlly found it! It is a REGAL MOTH! Amazing. What a drag it must be to have to deal with the plumbing and car repairs. i would not be good at that.

I personally would rather I do all that is needed to be done around here. Guess I'm controlling. That moth is stunning.

Beautiful Moth, never seen one before. Hope he finds that part. I am not alone but do everything which means I know you can do it too. and are and doing a great job of it. waiting new to see if the tree men I hired come today. our garbage gets picked up a day after the normal day when its a holiday week. easy to forget the day when off schedule

Delta is the brand name of the faucet (and actually my favored brand of faucets), the cartridge is what controls the water flow and depending on what type is needed they run anywhere from $50 to a little over $100. Yes, I Googled LOL

I get the frustration about being responsible for everything - I'm in the same situation and married - to a sentient capable person who just doesn't want to.

My dad died when I was 7, so I was used to a single mom raising two kids who was also trying to run the house. We didn't have the money to call anyone to come in to fix things, we had to figure it out ourselves first. When something broke, we'd gather around said broken thing and try to figure out what the problem is and how to fix it. It was, and still is, very stressful when things break and you don't know how to fix them, who to call, and anticipate an expensive and giant solution. So, I understand completely how you are feeling.

It sucks to not know who to call and if the repair guy is trustworthy and knows what they are doing. I still feel like that, even though I have Joe. I fully understand the anxiety. It's understandable and we all go through it.

Grace gave a great explanation about the cartridge. I hope that is the solution.

That is an interesting-looking moth! I hope that faucet fix does not turn out to be a huge mess and expense!

That’s a real pretty moth! Nice of your customer to show you. You have a lot on your plate. Keeping fingers crossed for you on your repair.

Such a pretty moth! Never saw anything like that before. I think a Delta is a type of faucet/sink brand, but then I'm not 100% sure. When my husband worked and worked 50 miles away, I was responsible to contact plumbers and the like for home repairs. I hated it because inevitably the plumber/whoever would say what was wrong and then my husband didn't agree with it and I was caught in the middle, lol (I would often turn the phone over to my husband to speak directly to the repair person). Since he is retired, that is his responsibility now but he often drags his feet getting something done whereas I always had to act quickly if something was wrong. I think I could handle it on my own because I would be able to make the decision rather than be the middle man though I'm sure with car repairs they would talk me into things I might not need :)

Gorgeous moth! I would have brought it home...lol
Hope things settle down for you! Been alone before...no fun. You just jump in and take care of things.

Wow! That moth is gorgeous! And yes, it's so much to remember and keep up with and hard not to stress over. I hope this week is better!

I hope your plumber gets things fixed without a lot of cost. It's always something.

I hate it when I lose track of the day. I do it all the time.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥

So beautiful. Was it okay? Fingers crossed!!! ((Hugs)) I totally understand, I would be a wreck having to make those repair calls and decisions. The last few weeks I've been off on the day of the weeks. I hate when that happens. Our trash is always delayed a day when there is a holiday.

Decisions like that are scary. Betty White said the worst thing about her husband dying was she had to make all the decisions alone. Fingers crossed the plumbing is an easy fix and that things settle down and become better. ❤️

Yeah you never realize how much a partner does until they are gone. My mom always said she missed my dad in the mornings because he always fixed the coffee the night before and it was ready when she got up. - Someone already beat me to the identification of the moth, it's pretty cool looking.

Such a pretty moth. I've never seen one before.

Good luck with the plumbing problem and hope it is easily fixed.

I am so very fortunate to have Ken!! He can do most anything. I've learned a lot from him too. I've been taking notes on certain things so I'll be able to do some stuff if I'm every on my own. :)

I have a lot of trouble describing things - a few months ago property manager wanted a picture - ummm there is something dripping and landing on the shelving under the tub ... I took a photo of the wet spot! The dude had to take the laundry tub out of the base, a couple of screws which I've never noticed, prop the tub up and reach to the cracked hose.
I took umpteen photos of the over hanging trees as they kept "forgetting to have them cut back" - I don't think they understood it until an inspection day and the branches dripped all over her!!!
