That's the way the cookie crumbles.

After being very frugal for a while until I paid off my mortgage, this apparently is going to be the year that all that saved money is going to fly right back out of my bank account.

It all started with me spending the extra money to make the front of my house look a little nicer. Since then I've had minor expenses to take care of. Then of course there were the doctor appointments for my eye issue and finally the great big dental expense. I do have dental insurance but it doesn't pay for much and my dentist is out of network. Needless to say I had to pay for it all up front and the insurance company will repay me a very small fraction.

The latest expense is going to be looking for a plumber. I knew that the tub faucet was dripping but I didn't think it was that bad. I had a big surprise when I opened my water bill to discover that it was $30 more than it usually is.

Today's to do list consists of making an appointment for car inspection and then finding a plumber. Oh and when I recover from both of those, Gibbs needs to get in to the vet to get caught up on shots.

Oy for sure! As they say, it's always something. Seems Dental insurance never pays for much! Ours only pays for checkups, X-rays, and some fillings. But does not cover any of the expensive stuff like root canals or crowns.

It is great that your mortgage is paid off but always a shame when these extra expenses come up. You sure have had your share of them lately. Let's hope after this round of all the extras not anticipated for you are done for the rest of the year!

we thought YAY when we paid our mortgage off, then found that the older the house gets the more we have to spend and it seems when we spend money it generates things to break and require repairs. We found with the plumber, to go with the best one, the big ad the one that cost more. we used that one the first time and then after 3 more times over the year with bad plumbers, we called the Expensive one. of course the leak should not be bad.. it is so stressful trying to find a repair person. put out a request for referral on FB. I got humerto from Home Depot the Pro desk

It's always something, isn't it? You have to be a millionaire these days to keep any money in the bank!

It's always something. I agree with you on that and it usually comes in threes.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥

Yep.... when it rains it pours, as the old saying goes, Ann. Seems like things can go rolling along just fine, with no extra bills, and then BAM... they come out of the woodwork! Hopefully you can find a good plumber who is also reasonable as well, in his charges. ~Andrea xoxo

Life has a way of bringing us down and in today's world everything is getting to be more expensive. I'm sorry you are having these issues. Hope you find the plumber who can do the work for a good price. You take care. ((Hugs))

It is always something!!! So sorry all these things are happening.
The only good thing I can think of to say is that at least you have the money.

I hope you find a good plumber...it is amazing how drips add up but they do. I have sat a bucket under one and been amazed at how quickly it fills up.
