Spooning

Wooden spoons are available super cheap at the dollar stores. Not only are they a handy gadget to have in the kitchen but they are quite versatile when crafting.

You can whip up a blizzard of snowmen spoons. Just paint them white and add a cute little face and a scarf to keep him warm.

Are these guys not seriously cute? I also added a little bit of white glitter on some of the edges but it didn't show up too well in the pictures

For a less seasonal look you can also paint them black, glue on some berries and tie on some homespun

Sorry for the blur but the spoon on the left was swinging when I took the picture.

I've got one more spoon project in the works but not ready to reveal it quite yet

Scented

For years now I've been reading about applesauce/cinnamon ornaments. Every year I say I'm going to make some for the holidays and every year I end up not doing it.

This year I decided that I was going to make some to sell at the craft show.

Last weekend I had some hearts in the oven

and I also made some little applesauce/cinnamon pumpkins.

My kitchen smells amazing. I've heard that the scent lasts for quite some time but since I've never made them before myself I can't say for how long

Welcome July

Holy smokes, can you believe it's July already? The year is half over with. So far we haven't had very much extra hot weather. I do believe we've had more than enough rainy, cool days too.
Of course this time of year Wade and Duke always look forward to getting in some pool time. Cooler temperatures and rain means that the pool sits unused far too much.

Who do you think was the first one to start pool season off this year? Yep, you got it. It was Duke. It was the first really nice day after the pool was ready and Wade was blowing up the rafts. Apparently Duke couldn't stand the wait. He ran up on the deck and the next thing you know I hear a splash and see Duke swimming for the ladder.
