Gold leaf is gold that has been hammered in to extremely thin sheets and is often used for gilding
Bittersweet October. The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause between the opposing miseries of summer and winter. ~Carol Bishop Hipps
October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came -
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
~George Cooper, "October's Party"
Last weekend we had beautiful weather. The sun was shining the temperature was comfortable. This weekend has given us a very sharp contrast. All day yesterday it was cold, rainy and windy. I sure would appreciate a little bit of sunshine today.

Lovely photos Ann! I love the beautiful colors in the fall leaves but it won't be long before I'll be looking forward to the new green leaves too! Hope you get some sunshine!
Just catching up Ann...I love the poems and photo in this post. They remind me of all the reasons I love Autumn!!!
Great photos, Ann, I so enjoyed the quotes too, especially the one by G. Cooper. We're having a nice weather and I hope you had that bit of sunshine.
Fall sure is great. All the beautiful colors. Unless you have to rake all those leaves.Great Pictures. We had that cold and rain here Friday and Saturday. It is suppose to be nice today.
It is a fun time to get in that last bit of play without jackets.Lovely shots.
I agree with Ginny, the photos are stunning. and there is no gilding needed on these, they were gilded by God. really pretty, hope the sun shines on your Sunday today
Those are such pretty leaves. My mother used to do gold leafing. I have a tray here that she did. I should send it to you so you could fix it up. I will send you a picture.
Take care and have a great Sunday.
Does Duke love to play in leaf piles?
There's lots of sunshine on our menu today after a cold, wet week-end here as well. The wind took down lots of leaves that had already turned, but there's still a lot more golden leaves to come! :-)
The leaves really are beautiful this time of year aren't they?
Lovely!

I love leaves that color--or those colors... When they are at that stage of change, they are just so pretty.. Happy Fall.
Hugs,
Betsy
Beautiful! I am loving the fall colors!
Your header is so pretty!
I wish I had leaves like that here. These photos are terrific Ann! Have a great day!
I hope you get your sunshine soon. I can so relate to how wonderful sunshine makes one feel.
Have a terrific Sunday. My best to Duke. :)
I still collect leaves in the fall as I walk along ...remember when we used to do that for school art projects?
I'm going to have to practice some more. My photos never look like this.
You make a leaf prettier then even nature can does. sandie
Ok, when I saw your title I thought for sure you had been in your craft room trying something new. LOL
Beautiful pictures. Fall leaves are quite lovely.
We haven't gotten a lot of colored leaves this year. I think it has something to do with all the rain we had.
Lovely fall post
I love individual leaf pictures. Each one seems so special.
Yeah, here too. Sigh. It went from lovely to cold FAST. :( Had to shut down the pond today--that always makes me sad.
Our weather has been bizarre temperature wise. In the past couple weeks we've been up in the eighties, down in the fifties and everywhere in between.
Love your leaves...gilded or not!
