More on the weekend

Since I didn't really divulge too much information about the craft show in my post yesterday, I'll share a little bit more about it today

Saturday was HOT HOT HOT and there was quite a crowd.
This was my side of the booth. Yes, you see a dead tree branch and a bunch of logs in the picture. I used the tree branch to hang ornaments on and the logs I found in the back yard had a nice split in them that was perfect for holding some of my thin paper items. I rigged up a cardboard stand that I covered with fabric and then set the logs on top.

This is Debbie's side of the booth. Hers looks a little nicer. Mine just sort of resembles some of the messes I have in my house :)

This is a cupcake stand that I made out of old plates and little glasses. I used this for a display piece although had someone asked I would have sold it to them. I took a picture of it while I was sitting there and bored during a slow period.

My first sale of the day were these mouse trap magnets. I threw these together Friday afternoon at the last minute. A lady came in and took all three. That's all I made since I wasn't sure how they were going to go together so I only bought one pack of traps.
Now here is something that really got me on Saturday. The crowd was huge and there were so many people walking around with their dogs. Of course we all love our fur babies and it's nice to take them along with us but in the heat with all those people AND the owners were walking around with a drink in their hand but when was the last time those poor pups had a drink? They were all panting their little hearts out. I wished I would have had a bowl to put out some water for them.

Sunday morning I got to the park around 8:30 or 8:45 and walked over to the beach before I started setting up. The sky wasn't looking so good.

Debbie kept an eye on the weather radar all day and we had a good idea of when to expect the rain. It turned out not as bad as we thought and we only got the one downpour. She even managed to sell one of her lamps while it was raining.

I think the booth looked very nice Ann!! It has been so unbelievably HOT, hasn't it?? I agree with you about the dogs and the water dishes...I never seem to see people giving their dogs water! I wish they would ban people from taking their dogs when it is so very hot! Glad you sold your magnets!!

I think your booth looks great Ann! I love your idea of putting cards in the logs! Sunny days are always better for sales at outdoor markets. Thank goodness it only rained once!

Both booths look nice, but yours caught my eye. I really like the tree branch for your bird ornaments and the logs are such an awesome idea! The display means a lot win showing items like yours. Really pretty Ann!
Walking dogs in the heat without water...not sure where the brains are sometimes of pet owners.

Scientific study shows where it's more likely to rain on the weekends in the United States.

Cupcake stand is super cute!
You should make a little sign and put out a dog bowl at your next show. Maybe it would bring more pet owners over to look at your wares, while their furry babies got a drink.
You could make a fancy drinking bowl like your cupcake stand.

Your booth looked great Ann! Congrats on the sales! I like those little kitties you have! I find it sad that people don't think of their dogs when they take them out and about.

both sides look good from here. does she make those lamps? i like the mousetraps, great idea. did you sell any of the red neck wine glasses?

Those mouse trap magnets are adorable. I would have taken all three too.

I hear you about the pups and water. We carry water for Little Bit everywhere we go. If we're drinking then Little Bit needs to drink too. I'll bet you have a water bowel the next time.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

Your booth looks good to us. I think the idea of the logs is terrific and like the idea of the dead tree branch too for hanging things on.I totally agree with you about the dogs. The difference is that I would have said something to those people with the dogs. Just ask them if they need some water for the dogs.

You are so clever - using the logs and branch that way - your display was beautiful...

The magnetic note trap - Brilliant - perfect for holding the on-going grocery list on the fridge - I'm using a little note pad I bought in the dollar store - I leave notes for myself all over the house - I can't get enough of thingies to hold reminders!

Both of your booth set ups are great! Those mouse trap magnets are really cute. You'll have to make more. I still love the clothespin note holders, too.

You had some great display ideas...loved the logs! Those little note traps are really cute. I'm not at all surprised that you sold all those.

The show organizers should set up a water staion for dogs...dog lovers would really appreciate a gesture like that.

The note traps are great and I think your side of the booth looked great too.

I know what you mean about people with their dogs. Maybe next show you can have a bowl of water out...but also a portable drink bowl for dogs would be a great thing to sell!!

Your display looks nice! Glad you had a good sale and didn't get stormed out! Hey, I see where Martha Stewart magazine this month has an article about gluing dishes together. It's a great idea for repurposing mismatched dishes!

Whoa, I had no idea that one could catch mice with pretty pictures instead of cheese or peanut butter!
