Flood shots

I've talked before about the flooding we get in our back yard when we have heavy rainfall. I've even shown pictures of it before. Well I'm going to show some more. This was a couple weeks ago and for a while I didn't think our back yard was ever going to dry out.

Starting at the top left and moving clockwise:
1. this was taken from the upstairs bedroom window. It was still raining and I was on a short break from flood patrol in the basement.
2. Standing in my driveway looking into the back yard
3. This is from the other side of the house. As you can see my back yard is a river.
4. Other side of the pool. You can see it coming under my ugly deck and collecting right there at the back door. The door is just on the other side of that bush on the left of the picture except the ground is a bit lower where the door is

Oh boy....now I need to ask...do you get any rainwater that comes into your basement when it floods like this?

oh noooo... hope it is not raining today... looks like a yard duke would love, did you let him swim in the puddles or wade or roll... i am glad it did not hurt your pool, it is not good for it to stand in water like that... scary pics... here is hoping you have sunshine today.. you said this was 2 weeks ago... so it should be gone by now

Wow, you really did get some flooding. We had a lot here too. Glad or at least we hope it didn't come in the house. This is the year for tons of rain. Take care.

Is there nothing that can be done to help alleviate this? Basement flooding - not a happy thing...

Can you install drain tiles? It's worth the work. My mom had flooding like that and she finally had to have drain tiles installed. Now it's much better!

That's a lot of water indeed. I can remember as a kid going to the barn in a boat as it was so flooded. I lived in Tillamook Oregon at the time. The average rainfall was 90+ inches a year.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

You do have a river! Did it go away quickly?? I bet Duke would have a blast running thru it. :)

We would be out there digging drainage ditches to keep that much water from filling up our backyard.... That's almost scary. Are you on the low side of your area? We have water which comes down the hill when it rains --but nothing that close to the yard or basement. Hope it doesn't get into your house... Yipes...

Hugs,
Betsy

Well, at least you don't have to go far to go kayaking. :) Hope no water made its way into your basement!

Oh gosh my first thought is did it get in the house or do you have a crack in your foundation! That is bad. Hope it is down now. sandie

OMG! I hope it didn't get to your basement and I hope it's dried up with this heat wave we've been having.
