I read a lot of articles claiming this vitamin or that herb is a miracle cure for what ails you. Some I've tried and some I ignore. Most of the time I don't think that they do what I read they would.
Not too long ago I read in Woman's World magazine about taking vitamin D-3 to help tame chronic pain. It also said to skip using acetaminophen because it supposedly zaps your happy. Actually what it said was that it reduces positive emotions like joy and happiness. It said to take a daily dose of curcumin extract instead.
Since I'm all for anything that will help with all the aches and pains I bought these and decided to give them a try. After all they're only vitamins and herbs and they weren't all that expensive.
I'm not 100% pain free but I do feel a whole lot better. One of the girls I work with said she's also taking the Turmeric Curcumin because she has knee pain and she also feels less pain. The way I look at it, even if it's all in my head, if I feel better that's all that matters.

I've heard a lot of good things about turmeric. I actually use the powder quite often in my cooking. Glad they are helping you!
Ann so glad you posted this. Vit D deficiency is very common these days and if you have a proven deficiency correcting it will work wonders for you. I usually test my patients Vit D levels before treating them. If you have an option you can test your Vit D3 levels and if proven to be deficient you will actually need a higher dose...the good thing it the treatment will give you almost immediate benefits. Curcumin is an extract from turmeric and has a lot of proven health benefits. We Indians tend to use turmeric as a spice in a lot of our food!

I agree with your statement if it is all in my mind and it helps, why not... glad you found something that helps. i think anyone taking supplements should have blood word to see if they need it. like vit d and vit c and B12... my last blood test my doc said DC the B12 supplemnt it is slightly elevated. all these things work but a doc is still necessary
I just googled turmeric curcumin and it says it helps stop aging of the brain as in improves cognitive ability.

Curcumin is also excellent for a dogs health and is added to my westies food dish - look at Mercola Healthy Pets to see the difference between what you take and what they sell if you want to add it to Gibbs food bowl. Also - omega 3 for pets {Nordic Naturals} and coconut oil are excellent supplements to add to Gibbs food bowl also. Start out with tiny tiny amounts.
I'm sure by you adding these to your daily diet you will feel better.

I have heard of adding a tumeric supplement but hadn't researched it yet, I'll be getting on that today. I have constant pain because of my back but I stay away from any kind of anti-inflammatory or pain killer unless the pain is severe which luckily doesn't happen all that often. Of course my idea of severe pain and someone elses might vary. On the 1-10 pain scale I am pretty much at a 2 constantly.
My husband and I have been taking D for a long time - his doctor recommended it and because we are inside 99% of the time, it's a real necessity. We use red yest rice to keep cholesterol in control (absolutely works, even the doctor approves) and I use ubiquinol to keep my blood pressure even. There is a lot ooga-booga to vitamin/herb supplements but then again there are some that do the job as well as or better than some drugs with no nasty side effects.
Interesting! I've taken D3 before but hadn't heard of the other. I might have to check it out so I don't reduce my happy!
I am a firm believer of alternative healing. BUT...I think you have to watch what you are taking to make sure it doesn't interact negatively with each other or what you are eating.

I take vitamin d too! I feel a lot better since I started - more energy and less aches and pains. Sometimes I add turmeric to my smoothies - it doesn't really taste much like anything.
Hi Friend, You know me.. I am BIG into health... We take both of those that you have listed... We also take a combo pill at nights to help with sleeping and rest: Calcium, Zinc, and Magnesium.... Working good along with some Tart Cherry Juice (good for aches and pains and insomnia)....

Never heard of the curcumin but hey, if it helps and doesn't hurt I say go for it. I take vitamin D and magnesium plus some Vitamin B complex. Keeps me sane!
