The good and the bad

Like any town we have all kinds of houses around here. Some look good, some not so much.

I've always liked the looks of this house. Quite a while ago they totally restored it.

This one has sat abandoned for as long as I can remember. I've been in the area for 28 years and I don't remember it looking any other way than it does now.  It would make a good haunted house but I think I would be afraid to walk across the upstairs floors.

I love the first house! And just look at that wrap around porch! The second one needs either renovated or torn down. Sad that the property owner seems not to care.

The first house looks pretty! Too bad about the other one though...

The first one looks like it has a nice big porch. I like big porches.

the restored home is just so beautiful. love that a lot and would like the old one if it were put back like it was. I doubt that could be done and it will have to one day come down... I love all the dormers and the roof line and the porch on the first

I love looking at old houses. I would never want to own one, though. Love the porch! Too bad about that abandoned house. I live about 30 miles from Detroit. Talk about abandoned houses!

It is so sad when houses get abandoned. That first house is gorgeous.

I look at abandoned homes and always wonder about the families that lived there

Love the first house. Very cute. Love the porch. I'd have a couple of comfortable chairs out there and just be out watching the world go by.

That last house is creepy. Wonder why it was just left abandoned. There has to be a story.

Have a fabulous day Ann. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

That second houses looks like it should be bought down before some kids get hurt exploring it. The reclaimed wood would be amazing. They built houses of much better timber back then.

The first house is just lovely, a wonderful design - it looks so light and cosy. As for the second one, I would not go there at night! but in the daylight, to look for hidden treasures - why not?

I love your blog and I will follow, if you do not mind! My name is Eugenie.

All houses have a certain charm....as you say, some given TLC throughout the years and renovated while others, still have a charm of their own, like the dilapidated one ----make a great haunted house for Halloween - or historical value.

I think they both look like great houses...it's a shame the second one has been left to go wild and decay. On my street the houses are pretty much all the same....I'm used to it but after seeing your pictures it makes my street kind of boring in comparison.

I love finding old houses but it's even better to see them lovingly restored.

I hate seeing abandoned houses when there are so many homeless people! I do love the first one - I want my bedroom to be in the top square room.

That renovated house is beautiful! So sad the other one has been deserted and it probably isn't restorable now.
