Encouraging words

The picture is an old edit from August 2011

I saw this on facebook and I think we all feel like quitting sometimes. I hope that the next time you feel that way you'll remember these words

“Don’t quit.
When your latest efforts fail, don’t quit. When your performance is scoffed and ridiculed, don’t quit. When you’re told you have no talent, don’t quit. When you come in dead last, don’t quit. When it seems an uphill fight to keep going, don’t quit. When you can’t see any possible way to achieve your goals, don’t quit. When your last supporter is you alone, don’t quit. When discouragement and depression seem your constant companion, don’t quit. When you feel like quitting, don’t quit.
Time and time again you will crave relief from the harsh fight of trying to succeed. You will falsely think that quitting will bring peace and reprieve, but alas, only regret and disappointment await the quitter. Victory means never ever quitting.
So don’t quit.
Do not quit.”
― Richelle E. Goodrich, Slaying Dragons

  1. I think i am getting what you are saying. Don't Quit!! right? LOL... had to get that out because it popped in my head. i have done a lot of quitting in my time.. instead of addressing the problem, just quit and leave it, from marriage to daily things. i am better now. this is a good poem to have somewhere to remind us.. love the edit. beautiful doors on that church

  2. I do like the edit.

As for the little essay - it just makes me angry and I could write pages about why. I wish people wouldn't take this generic crap so seriously, and people do, and measure their actions by it. So harmful.

  3. I love this. The edit and the Don't Quit! Too many people quit at the first sign of adversity and then wallow in their misery for the rest of their lives. They blame their failure on everyone but themselves. I love this.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

  4. Great speech . . . and I will not quit.
Sometime you have to be your own cheerleader
and then sometimes you have hundreds of blogging sisters
all over the world encouraging you and brightening your day :)
    Have a sweet week,
    Connie :)

  5. I don't like quiting but if I make my mind up to then I do with no regrets.

  6. Those are great words to hold on to.

  7. mean that's the end? You quit. I was expecting more.

Thoughts, opinions, constructive criticism, it's all good to me.
I will delete all spam comments however, so don't even bother trying!
