babysitting

Presleys mom asked if I could babysit for a couple hours yesterday and of course I said yes. She showed up very tired and very unhappy that her mom was going to leave her. Brittney was a bit reluctant to go but I told her not to worry everything would be fine. She cried for maybe 10 minutes then I got her settled on the couch with her tablet watching a video and she was out.
She woke up about an hour later and I made the mistake of asking if she felt better. It started the tears all over again. I took her outside for a bit but that didn't help much. We came back in and I gave her the tablet back to watch some more videos. Then I pulled out my phone and started showing her pictures on my phone that I had of her, her mom and her dad.

Her tablet, her blankie and a drink and she was doing fine.
Crying or not it's always a pleasure to have her around.

I like Anni's comment, Precious Presley! and she is. she does look tired or maybe like she doesn't feel well. Hope she was just tired and worn out... so happy you got to keep her for a while

She is adorable! I am glad you were able to spend some time with her. I love that tablet, as tablets can be the one thing that quiets them.

Yep, that's about how I feel when somebody interrupts my nap. Just give me my laptop and leave me alone-hahaha
Glad you got to have time with her and give her some grandma love and patience.

Aw, she's ever so cute. I know you enjoyed having her. Grands are the best.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

I've heard that kids are having a hard time with separation anxiety because of Covid. They are so used to their parents being around all of the time and it is scary to have them leave. I wonder if Presley experienced that? Well...and she is a little one, just yet.

It will get easier when you can do things with her instead of just her tablet for entertainment. Maybe get a little toybox of special "Grandma" toys for her to play with when she is there. Some little dollies or some farm animals might be fun for her at that age. Then you can play with her and it can be fun Grandma and Presley time!

She's adorable, but what I notice is how she's growing! I'm glad you can babysit once in a while.

She was just having one of those days! I know sometimes when we go by Adam and Gabby's, even though we don't get close to James or them, there are days when they say "he has been so clingy lately."

Oh the little ones, some have such a hard time leaving the parents. My great grand will say see you later but the grands Brody will ask a million questions and Blake will cry for his daddy. But he loves the grandpa so it all works out. Presley is sure a cutie. I think it is harder when they are tired too. You did great! Yay! I bet the time went by quickly. I love to take the kids outside if its good weather. They love the sun and the playing in the yard. HUGS across the miles XO

I see a "bad hair day" - you've gotta start early with them - so you know the way of achieving it in the future. Good though she had a little nap with you...
