Can't get my act together

I just don't seem to be able to talk myself into pulling out Christmas decorations this year. I did however finally put away the fall decorations. I changed out my fall plates for my snowman plates that hang on my kitchen wall. Other than that this is all I've put out Maybe This Year I'll stick with winter decorations instead of Christmas decorations and then there won't be any rush to get it put away

This is what I am doing, mostly winter stuff. Then I can leave it all out till April. I'd like to see those plates.

I'm right there with ya, Ann! I just put away my autumn decorations earlier this week... but the Christmas ones aren't out yet. Maybe next week... maybe. ~Andrea xoxo

We don't decorate inside the apartment any more, and until this year I never put anything for the outside. The main thing is for you to take care of yourself. The idea of winter decorations makes a lot more sense.

To me, winter IS Christmas when decorating is concerned.

I am trying to think what winter decorations I could put out here in Florida.. LOL... the thing about this year is do what you want to see and makes you feel good... you could sit your little green trees you just made out. buy one short set of fairy lights at Big Lots and add to the snowman and it will brighten your days and nights. Light makes me feel good

I don't have much at all to put out, and even all of that is not out. I got out the nativity, and the tree and my stocking and one other thing. My house does not seem Christmasy at all.

I decorated fairly early this year. I'm not sure if I had waited until now I would have put much out. It's all in your state of mind!

Amen. I think we should do what we feel like doing in the way of decorating and celebrating. Who cares if you don't have a tree up? Or if you have lights on the house? I say, less stress about what is "expected" is better. I have learned that expectations or hardcore traditions just lead to hating the holidays, so I mix it up each year. I do what I WANT to do and leave it at that. If someone misses the village under the tree, then come over and set it up.

At the end of Oct. I was gung ho to get the Christmas décor started but I like to wait until after Nov. 11 - by then I'd lost my gung ho, lol. I actually had to watch several Christmas movies to get back into the spirit of things ... it's a crazy year. I have Christmas and winter decorations up and the Christmas ones will be put away in January but the place won't look too bare since the winter ones will still be there. This year do what makes you happy. ^^

That's a great idea to stick to winter decorations, especially if you're just really not feeling it this year!

We don't decorate anymore. So much work and we don't host the dinners anymore, so we just stopped. We're good with that. I love your idea about winter decorations though. Excellent idea.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

I felt like decorating this year (believe me, we don't do very much) but who knows how I'll feel next year?

I am feeling the same way... keeping it to one room this year with a winter mood.

Somehow the whole Christmas theme for me as gone AWOL and I don't think much will be achieved at all. I did though get nice wee hamper of foods from the Property Management for this unit, when usually they provide you with a supermarket voucher...

Me too, I finally put away my Fall decorations. I'm struggling here. Our tree is up and I put my new ornaments on it. It's bare but I'm okay with that. I lost a whole week going to Arizona over Thanksgiving. I've pulled out a few things and will pull out a few more things. Next year will be different, that's pray for that!
