I got a letter in the mail yesterday from Northwest Bank. I opened it without paying much attention. When I opened it I realized it was address to my ex husband and his wife. It was in regards to their loan and had a due day for their first payment of 11/04/2022.
Being a little concerned, I went online to the banks website to get a customer service number. I didn't trust the one in the letter. Turned out to be the same one. I called customer service and explained the letter and told her that we have been divorce for over 20 years. She looked in her computer, said she had MY address and said they're going to be wondering where their statements are. She asked if I was able to get in contact with him at all. I said no but I could contact my daughter and have her get a hold of him.
Now that I think of it though, they should have had his phone number. The whole thing was just odd.

It is a bit odd. Seems to me your ex husband is going to have to update his info but it is weird why they didn't have his number. Hopefully you won't get any more statements about their loan.
betty
Really strange!!
That's strange, but about par for the course nowadays...things are getting crazier and crazier. At least you could pass them on to your daughter and be out of it.
It sure is par for the course..what is fun is when you try to change health insurance!
i don't think a bank would give a loan to someone after 20 years without verifying the address. I also don't believe the bank would tell you to contact him. I would have said, I don't have contact with him, its your problem. and after typing all this my what if is maybe a stranger is losing his identity. your idea of get Amanda to call him is a good one
This is concerning.
That is very odd.
And he is taking out a loan in 2022? When he isn't living any longer?? Hmmmm...sounds sketchy.
Why would they give a loan to someone and not have their updated address? Strange.
Odd indeed. You did the right thing though.
Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥
That is strange after all this time!!
the digital world is so strange - I think banks change their systems and certain out of date things reappear!
Sounds like someone inputting info into the computer made a mistake.
That is really odd. Why would it suddenly come to your address?
Great call on getting Amanda to call, that's a weird one.
