Last day of another 3 day weekend.

So it was another 3 day weekend for me. The store is open on New Years day but I pointed out to them that it would be cheaper to pay someone else the over time to work the holiday than it would be to pay me. I would rather have the day off since I get holiday pay either way.

I spent yesterday taking my Christmas decorations down. I was going to leave them up another week but I got really bored so I started packing them up. I'm sure I'll find a stray decoration here and there that I missed but most of it is all put away for another year.

The plan now is to get started on cleaning things out and decluttering my house. Of course I've had that same plan for the last several years and have never gotten very far with it. Hopefully this year I'll have more luck.

It takes me a while to get all the decorations up, so I never usually want to take them down too early. Within the week I'll probably be thinking about it. We've made some progress over the years cleaning out closets and drawers, etc... but after Christmas, new things have to be put away so it's an ongoing process.

yay for two weekends in a row with extra time off, even if you don't do anything, just NOT GOING TO WORK is Great.I took down my Christmas this morning, it took me 20 minutes, it took about 40 to put it up. I did leave the tree in the nook, minus its ornaments. we like the lights, just a tiny tree of lights. when I tire of it, I will put it in the pillow case and tie a knot in it and sit it in the closet. time spent 60 seconds. LOL.. enjoy your day

Three day weekends are so nice. I remember looking forward to them when we were still working. I like my 7 day weekends now.

Way to go on taking down Christmas. Always a good feeling.

Decluttering is done one room at a time. If you try the whole house it's overwhelming.

Have a fabulous day off, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥

Yesterday I took down everything but the tree. I usually leave it up for another week or so! I just love looking at it, I guess! Happy New Year!

Other than not working, I could have written this post. I am doing Christmas take down today and my plan is to start decluttering. However that has been my plan every year for several years now. LOL This is the year...let's do it!

I'm happy for you that you got another three-day weekend. Christmas decorations are still up here but only because I was late getting them done. Got it done under the wire. Your last paragraph spoke to me in a big way. The plan is to tackle the basement and the garage here, says I keeping fingers crossed behind my back :)

Well done. I intended to make a start on removing the decorations today but then didn't. There's always tomorrow.

I really enjoy decluttering mode. That's a fun thing to do. Some Christmas is down here and some is still up.
