The end of an era

Last Wednesday I fried my very last rack of donuts. After these I was officially out of donuts.

I also walked through the store before the lights were turned on and before anyone else got there. You can see in these pictures just how empty the shelves have gotten.

I am working again today but our store hours have been reduced and it will just be me and the deli manager from 8-4. I’ll be opening and closing the store and play cashier again for the day.

That's sad, but at least you won't have to get up so early? I'm with Ginny, what are your feelings?

The end of an era is always sad. Sometimes it helps to think of it as the beginning of something new . . .

the store looks sad and abandoned already. Hope it closes soon and you can get on with whatever is next.. I would be totally stressed and you seem to be very calm about it which is a good thing

What a depressing atmosphere to have to spend 8 hours in. You sound pretty calm but I know this has to be stressful. Big hugs!!

It's sad, and troublesome, for you and the community. Have you given any thought to what's next for you? You are too young to retire.

Ann the store is larger than I thought. It was a full service grocery store with bakery and deli just like Harris Teeter where I shop.
Sending lots of positive prayers for all that there will be a door waiting to open for you all
Hugs Cecilia
