Since I had been sewing like crazy and had accumulated quite a few things, I decided that I would do a random act of kindness kind of thing. I made some cards explaining what it was and put it with some of my handmade items.
Down the street from me, in the library parking lot, there is what we call the blessing box. People can drop off non perishable food items or other items such as cleaning supplies etc. Anyone is free to drop by the box and take whatever they may need.
The day I stopped the blessing box was pretty empty.
I left my offering on one of the shelves. While it's not going to help someone looking for something to eat, I thought something pretty might just put a smile on someone's face.
I haven't gone back to see if anyone picked it up or not but it doesn't matter. I'm sure someone will.

What a sweet thing to do!!!
Yes, that's incredibly sweet!
I love it and I am sure its gone and you should walk by and tell me if it is because I have a curiosity bump the size of Texas. excellent idea.
A Blessing Box sounds a wonderful idea. Someone will love your gift.
That was a really sweet thing to do. It will brighten some ones day.
What a beautiful and thoughtful act of kindness! It's so heartwarming to hear that you chose to share your handmade creations in such a generous way. The thought of someone receiving a little something pretty, just because, is sure to brighten their day and remind them that there are still little joys and kindnesses in the world.
The blessing box is such a lovely community initiative, and by leaving your cards and handmade items there, you’ve added a layer of warmth and thoughtfulness to it. Even if you don’t know if anyone has picked it up yet, the simple fact that you made the effort and gave freely is what counts most. You’ve created a ripple of kindness that could very well inspire someone else to do something similar.
Your random act of kindness is a reminder that small gestures of love and creativity can make a big impact, even if we never see the results. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story—it’s the little things like this that truly make a difference in communities.
Love the blessing box. We have book boxes here. It's a good thing to leave things for others. I know what you put in there is long gone.
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥
Ann, that was a great and wonderful idea! Hope someone sweet gets it.

Just made me smile and smile! Love the card you put with it! That Blessing Box is such a wonderful idea, too. I have heard of the little libraries. I saw that people started putting donations of food and other household goods in them over covid. Maybe that is where they started from? Or have they been around a long time and I never heard of them? A Blessing Box is just the perfect name for it. You made my day, Ann! :)
What an awesome idea and gift to brighten someone's day.
Blessed to be a blessing.
I love this idea and someone will get a smile and a new pouch.

That's a lovely act of kindness Ann, and someone will definitely smile when they find that among the blessings.

This is such a wonderful idea. Someone will be very happy!
What a blessing you will be to someone. My daughter has had to get food from these before only because she refuses to ask us to help her. I try to leave items in these boxes quite regularly.
