take it for a spin

Some time ago I purchased an Ocedar spin mop and bucket. I love this thing.

The mop head is removeable and can be washed. You put it in the water on the one side of the bucket then put it in the spinner side to spin the excess water out of it.

Lately the bucket's spin mechanism hasn't been working too well. Sometimes it will spin fine and other times not. I looked into just buying a new bucket but they all came with the mop. Then I discovered that you could purchase replacement mechanisms. I found a pack of 2 for just under $6 dollars on Amazon and ordered them. When they came I was surprised that it was just one small piece. I was expecting the larger piece as well. I was skeptical but tried it anyway.

It was super easy to replace and now the bucket works like brand new. I really didn't want to have to go back to the old sponge mops I've used in the past so I was thrilled that this one was fixable.

You can also purchase replacement mop heads for this which I did shortly after purchasing it. Now I have several that I switch out for washing.

That's always great when they have replacement parts. I'm glad you discovered it.

I was looking at those mops a while back. Good to know they have replacement parts. Plastic parts wear out pretty fast, I find. Glad it was easy to fix! :)

I have seen these advertised and wondered how well they work! Thanks!

Look at you, now repairing your bucket. I don't know if I would have thought of ordering a part. I still use the old string mops you ring by hand, that my mother and her mother used... I have seen these advertised but not recently because they don't put ads for mops on news or car shows.

It's so satisfying when you can fix something yourself. Well done!

So that is interesting - good job there. What kind of product do you use to clean the floor?

I have looked at this mop so many times but never bought one. We did purchase a Swifter power mop recently.. we'll see how that thing goes and then maybe we will finally break down and get the one you have. Thanks for your recommendation.
