A fun and easy craft

Not sure where I saw this idea. It was either on Facebook or Pinterest. I decided to give it a try since I had all the things I needed to make one. That's the advantage of having a huge craft stash.

This is a rag flower made with a canning jar lid

I used mod podge on the burlap center to keep it from fraying. The burlap was white and apparently there was leftover blue paint in the brush I used. Oh well, at least it matches.

To cover up the back I just glued on the other part of the lid.

I ripped 1" strips of fabric and then cut them to 9" in length. Then I just looped them around the lid ring until it looked full enough. I think I used 16 total strips. Before doing all that though, I drilled a hole in the ring and pushed the dowel rod through then I added some hot glue to hold it in place.

This is adorable! You ought to put it outside for the 4th of July. Which, by the way, the stores already have 4th things for sale. And have had for WEEKS...
