A second project.

I actually did two projects on Monday with my heat press. This one is a bit simpler and was the first one I did. This is a oven mitt that I purchased at Dollar Tree. I used white heat transfer vinyl. I've seen a lot of these done with a utensil and cookie mix package tucked inside for  gifts.

Almost a year

It's been almost a year since I purchased my heat press. It's been sitting waiting for me to be brave enough to use it. I've had plans many times to attempt but always put it off. Finally yesterday, I pulled it out and did a project.

I purchased this placemat at Dollar Tree. Of course I chose this one because of the buffalo plaid.

I purchased some orange iron on vinyl and found a design I liked.

I folded over the top and sewed across to make a pocket for a dowl rod. I tied a piece of just on to the dowel rod for hanging. In the top corner I glued on some fall leaves with a raffia bow and a little pumpkin button. The bottom corner was another fall leaf with another one of those little Dollar Tree pumpkins wrapped with jute.

A little crafting

Saturday I decided to do a little more crafting after I made that star for my cake order. This time the crafting was for personal use. Not sure what I'll do with this yet. Most likely give it away.

I purchased two of these jars from Dollar Tree.

When I bought them I had a slight idea of what I would do with them but nothing specific. Saturday I came up with one version. I have plans to do the other one a little different but haven't gotten to it yet.

It doesn't really show but the pumpkin on the side is a glitter vinyl. For the lid, I wrapped the side with a glitter ribbon then I took a small Dollar Tree pumpkin and wrapped it with jute twine and then up around the plastic stem. I glued that on to the top of the lid then added a little raffia bow.

I thought this turned out pretty cute. It would either look nice just like this or would work well to hold candy.

Taking my work home with me

I have a cake order coming up at work and the customer wants this on the cake
Normally I will tell a customer who asks for a specific picture on their cake, that it depends on what it is. If they can bring me a picture, and I can draw it on paper, then I can do it on a cake. Well try as I might, I just cannot draw this star without it looking all wonky. I did the next best thing. I went to my Cricut and made one with paper. I'll add a wood skewer to this so that they can stick it into the cake. This isn't perfect but it's way better than what I could do drawing it in frosting.
