Frozen Fire

You may remember that my husband bought me the Kindle Fire for Christmas last year. I have totally loved that thing. It goes everywhere with me and I read on my breaks and lunch and anytime I have to wait for anything. That is until the other day. My Kindle froze up on me. I can't get by the screen you see in the picture.
What makes it even worse is that I was really in to the book that I was reading. I probably would have finished it the other day but my lunch was over and I had to go back to work. I knew I should have hid out in the stock room and kept reading. Darn!
Any way let me just say that Amazon was wonderful. I went to their help section and found the troubleshooting topics for Kindle Fire. I followed their suggestions with no luck and then contacted them. You can either choose to call their automated customer service number or leave your number and click "call me now" or "call me in 5 minutes" Believe it or not they called me in under 5 minutes. The customer service rep went through a series of questions and instructions and finally said that it was likely my poor fire was dead and they would send out a new one (since mine is still under the 1 year warranty) It should get here in 2 days and then I have 30 days to ship my old one back to them postage paid.  Way to go Amazon. Now THAT'S customer service.

I have heard several complain about the service they have received from Amazon, but they have always treated me very well. Of course, I considered that to being on account just how special I am, but since they have treated you so well...

That is fabulous to hear that Amazon is working with you, the customer!!!! And to have to wait to finish the book is torture if it was very good....you didn't mention what you're reading tho.

The fire is fried....hmmmm. Where could I go with that? Oh, never mind, I'll just let it go at that and let you get back to Duke.

Hello Ann .....

I think if you explain to Amazon they, in general, have a very good customer service department. They have always been helpful to us.

How are things with you?

We are having a very funny Summer this year - it keeps raining then sunshine then more showers - in fact it is like having a continual April! Lol!

Nice that you got such great help, but I hope you weren't on a cliffhanger with the book.

That's great. I'd love a Kindle Fire, though, I can live with my regular Kindle for awhile. At least until the price goes down.

I think it's always a good idea to buy those kind of products straight from the source even if you can buy them at Walmart or Target-if you run into a problem down the road, you can call the company directly and they are more likely to help. If you bought it from Target-you might not get help at all from either party.

And I am pleased as punch that I have a well stocked public library now - and rarely have my nose out of a book - the paper kind.

I just can't get used to reading on a machine (I have an iPad, my husband has a Nook and I have all his Nook books on my iPad -)

I just have a regular Kindle and LOVE it! I didn't think that I would, but I love loading up on a bunch of books for vacation and just carrying that little thing with me.

I'm glad that you are getting a new one! That is GREAT customer service! Hooray!
