Nest progress

The end of the story on the little robin family that was living by my front door.
First I have a picture of mom. She saw me standing at the front door and was very cautious about returning to the nest.

It's amazing how quickly they grew

The one on the far right always seemed to be the most alert.

On June 4th I came home from work and when I checked the nest was empty. They didn't even say goodbye before they flew off.

It really IS amazing how fast they grow! I have never actually taken photos like you did, but they are off and learning to fly, I'm sure of it!!

It is a miracle that they grow so fast but a good supply of worms would make hit the sky too!!!...:)JP

Awwww. They do grow up fast, don't they?

Last week, we had the LOUDEST pack of birdie teenagers in our yard. Criminy! Mom had 4 or 5 youngsters who had flown the coop, but were still learning the ropes--and she kept bringing them to our feeder to train them. I was about ready to kill them for all the noise they were making!

How sweet! I was lucky enough to watch a robin build a nest and watch her babies grow. I was amazed at how hard she worked to get it built.

I was going to call them cuties but upon a closer look they're kind of homely! I bet they're beautiful now all grown up.
