It really doesn't look all that bad in the picture and that spot under my nail hasn't gotten any bigger but it still hurts and I keep bumping it on things which makes it hurt even more. I'm not ashamed to say that I cried like a baby when I did it.
Yesterday Ginny asked if that was a news stand in one of the pictures of my village. Yes, it was in fact a news stand.
The picture was focused on the mom and child but you can see the news stand clearly. The lamp post lights up on this.
As I'm typing this to schedule it is snowing out. I'm so hoping this is a quick snowfall and that I don't have to brush tons of it off the car in the morning.
I always schedule my posts to publish at 12:30 a.m. In the morning before I go to work I sit down with my coffee and check to make sure the post published. Yesterday morning I discovred that somehow the time got changed on the post to 5:30 p.m. So if any of your early birds were wondering why I didn't have a post up early it was because blogger changed the time on me.

There's a reason they say, "Sticks out like a sore thumb." Oh! I hope it heals fast.
Ya...blame it on Blogger! (jk)
Ohhhhh, ouch. I'd be saying a few choice words with that!!
Ouch - now that hurts!
Yes, Blogger keeps us on our toes.
I like the newsstand and did not catch that it was one... oh nooo on the thumb and when I read the part about crying like a baby to bob he started laughing because when I get hurt I always cry. I do the same thing with the 12:30 am thing and several times have set it at the wrong time or not changed it from the auto time... I check my email when I wake up at 3:30 on my tablet and see if comments came in on both blogs. if there are no comments I check the blogs to see if they posted
Ouch....I would probably have cried, too. Afterwhile I I can remember, I am going to mail you a picture of my thumb...so if you see something from me with an attachment, it is legit and not spam.
I have tried other blog places, but blogger is still my favorite...but it does do some strange stuff for me. Almost all people that leave a comment...I get an email telling me they have commented. But there are two or three that I don't receive that notice.
And there are times I keep checking on a blog, and no new post. (I still just go to the individual blogs.) Anyway, I will check them daily, and then I will check, there is a post that is 3 days old...and I will look at the comments and they are 3 days old, too. So, why did I keep getting the old post.
Ouch. I hope it gets better soon.
I love the newsstand. You don't see them much anymore.
Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥
Ouuuuuuuuuchhhhhhhhhhhhh!! I could have cried just reading about this mishap, Ann. You poor dear... and you work with your hands at work, on top of it all. Your story brings back memories of a story my Mom told me decades ago. My parents, my brothers, and my Grandma (Mom's mom) went somewhere together... in the 1940s, I'm guessing. Everybody got out of the car & my Grandma called to my Dad, very softly & sweetly... "My hand is caught in the door." Dad looked and there her poor hand was, with 4 fingers caught in the closed car door. I immediately thought of that story while reading your post, Ann. I hope your thumb heals quickly and the soreness goes away soon. Tuesday wasn't too good of a day for us either, so it must have been in the air. Love, Andrea xoxo
I'm wincing at the thought of it! Yikes! I hope you are feeling better now. THank goodness you didn't break a bone!
CheerfulMonk...LOL yes I guess there is.
Anni well I gotta blame someone and I said several choice words
Sandee, still sore but not as bad as yesterday
Andrea Oh my, at least the door didn't completely close on my thumb. I can't imagine having 4 fingers closed in the door, That had to have really hurt.
Lin, I appreciate the sympathy :) I thought the same thing about breaking it.
I would of been crying and swearing - would of woke some people up in the neighborhood! :) Hope it's feeling better. I love your village!! Very cute.
Hi, I always read your posts but seldom comment these days.. BUT--I wanted to tell you how much I love your little village... NEAT!!!! My Mom/Dad had a little village WAY BACK in the day when I was very young. I always loved those little houses (only about 5-6 of them I think) ... Wonder what ever happened to that little village?
Sorry about your thumb... I'd cry also!!!!! Hope it is feeling better now.
Merry Christmas.
Hugs,
Betsy
I don't often check my posts but I usually post at 12:00 am. Sorry about your thumb. Hope it is feeling better.
Reeni, believe me I said several 4 letter words when I did it...lol
Betsy Thanks. My thumb is feeling better than it did that day. I started the village several years ago and I enjoy setting it up each year. I think half the fun is also finding new stuff to add to it.
