It was a beautiful day for a drive
The amazing thing was when I got there shortly before 9:00 there was only one other person there who was almost done. I was out of there within 10 minutes. While I was waiting for my license to be finished I snuck a picture of the two women who were working
There was one other guy who came in while I was waiting. He went over and got his picture taken and the lady asked if that was the picture he wanted. He said yes unless she had anything that could make him look like Brad Pitt. I laughed under my mask but the two women there didn't seem to have much of a sense of humor.

I wonder if any D.M.V. employee has EVER cracked a smile.
I know, it's too bad. Life would be so much easier if people could smile and laugh a bit more.
Surprising that you got in and out of there with such east and I'm glad the weather was nice too. The DMV employees here have the same lack of friendliness!
I figure, why on earth would ANY guy want to look like Brad Pitt? But then again, better choice than wanting to look like Trump.
I always dread going, but our little place is popular...I guess cause we are a small town. The girls are friendly and they will crack a smile...
The RG is waiting for his paperwork to go for his pic. Seniors can go on Tues early but I wonder if that would mean a bigger crowd, hmm
After reading this I think that they must train them to have no sense of humor because a couple of times I've tried cracking a joke which is my normal self and they don't get it or don't act like they get it and don't smile or anything so it maybe they're trained to be tough and mean
I wish they had asked me if that was the picture I wanted because when I got my driver's license and looked at it it's an absolutely horrible and if I want to get another picture it's $35
Uh-oh. Another item for my growing "to-do" list. License expires in August.
Mine expires in a couple weeks....I'm hoping to look like Julia Roberts in my new photo!!
Most of the people that work for DMV don't have a sense of humor. I've not met any in all my years. I'm glad you got your license taken care of.
Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
Last time I was at the SOS office there was a lady having her picture taken for her license. When the clerk asked her if the picture was ok she said no and the clerk re-took it. Apparently she didn't like the second one either and asked to have it taken again. The clerk told her they only do I retake. This lady had an absolute fit! Yelling and saying "unbelievable" and "I can't believe it" as she walked away! It was pretty funny I thought!
*haha* I laughed just reading that man's response. I can't imagine actually being there and not laughing. My mother used to call those type of women "sourpusses". I'm glad you got a chore knocked off your list on your day off, Ann. I'm getting some bedroom painting done, which has been hanging over my head for awhile now. It feels good to at least get SOME of the walls painted anyway. Cheers to accomplishments for both of us. Love, Andrea xoxo
Good for you getting that done and how wonderful to have so few people there.
did you get the kind that will eventually be necessary re any travel? Just curious. I know originally they were to be required by October, but I've heard they pushed that date back because of COVID.
Oh come on, even if the folks who manned the barricades in places like the DMV or the social security office started out being chipper I bet it didn't take them long on the job before they became card carrying misanthropes!
....great...and then what did you do? Go on a outing to a forest and mooch around...or ???
So I have always been a fan of one liners. I can come up with them at the drop of a hat and I love to use them like this guy did. I totally DISLIKE when I don't get a smile, its like the humor just flew right over their head. In the case of these ladies I would suggest even though they can't be seen through the mask....SMILE. Chuckle.....life and the job would make for a better day.
Ginny, not that I"ve seen
CheerfulMonk yep it sure would
Anni ROFL
Gayle, if I had waited longer I heard that they were issuing new ones using the latest picture they had on file and you wouldn't need to go
Cynthia, Well at least I"m good for another 4 years
Steph, I was hoping for something like that too but no such luck
Sandee I've noticed
Andrea these ladies have been there for years and I've never seen them smile or even be friendly for that matter
Grace well I agree to a point because there are days when I really just hate people but I can still be friendly to the customers who come in the store.
Catherine, I made a couple quick stops for things I needed from the store and then headed home for a nap
Pam I am always too slow with responses. I think of the perfect come back after the conversation is over...lol
