Off to a good start

I know this is only the third day in to the new year, but I think I'm getting off to a pretty good start. New Years day I had to work for a few hours in the morning. I came home and put pork chops and sauerkraut in the crock pot for my dinner. After that I took down my tree and got it put away and I packed up the nativity set as well. I didn't get that empty room feeling this year that usually goes with taking down the decorations. I guess that's because I didn't put many up.

Saturday I started working on cleaning out again. I now have the bedroom done. I went through the dresser drawers and cedar chest and got rid of a ton of clothes. When I was done with that I did the linen closet and got rid of a bunch of blankets and sheets that I don't need or want. Seeing the much emptier closet made me feel happy. I ever started in on my craft room but that one is going to require a lot of work. I'm determined to do it though.

Today is work and I need to remember to bring home more boxes since I didn't have enough to pack up all the clothes I cleaned out.

Well that's about it for now. Owl see you later.

I love the owl and am impressed by your uncluttering. Around here the place where I donated things have closed because of COVID. 🙁

I WANT that owl.
You're on a cleaning spree. Good for you. All I can say is...I should too, but I'll convince myself otherwise.

Wow you got a lot done! I have the same things to do, but have to do it over WEEKS! You have new energy for the new year, hurrah!! It feels so good to me to have empty space. We just moved the kids' toy box to the basement, and bought some wood grain plastic drawers for extra storage. We have a lot more storage room now. But things will still be a work in progress for a long time. LOVE this cute owl!

I love the owl. Well done with the decluttering - I know it's not always easy. How are you dealing with the 'stuff' that you're getting rid of ... here we still cannot take anything to the thrift stores, etc. so decluttering means the bags/boxes of 'stuff' sit around or the car fills up, lol. You are, indeed, starting the new year off right so kudos to you.

Hooray! What a great way to start the new year!

Last year, it seems that everyone was cleaning out the clutter and the thrift stores were all closed....so nowhere to take the junk. When they finally opened, the lines to donate were around the block! I had to wait months to get rid of all of my stuff. I hope that part changes this year.

Sounds like you're on a roll! I love when that happens! It doesn't seem like such a chore that way!

LOVE THE OLD OWL!!! It's time for me to revisit the closets since it's been since March. January is a pretty busy month for me...walks and talks every weekend. Maybe I'll tackle them in /FebruaryMarch again. Keep up the good work because it is a good feeling, knowing that your stuff can be used by someone who really needs it...:)jp

My big sister Pat use to say Owls were good luck. Aw.... I sure miss her. We lost her in 2001 like our mom. I often think her passing was too much for our mom. Anyway my big sis was always so fun to be with. I have been cleaning too. I pulled out the Valentine stuff so down comes a lot of Christmas. This weekend the hubby will help me get all the stuff put away. We use to have a regular king size bed and bought an adjustable tempurpedic one. It is a king but it is split so we can go up and down without disturbing the other. We love it but we had to get new sheets. So I have tons of sheets I am going to donate. They are all get sets. :-)
We were suppose to clean houses last week while Avery was home but we did not get it down. So....It is a great feeling though. Little by little we get it all done. :-) As long as I have my music on I am good to get most things done.
I hope your week is wonderful. HUGS across the miles

Yum on the pork chops and sauerkraut. A Sunday meal growing up was pork, dumplings and sauerkraut. Way to go on getting things cleaned out.
