Monday morning

Normally I get paid on Thursday. Last week however, our checks didn't arrive. When the boss tracked the package he discovered they were in Tennessee. They never arrived until Friday late afternoon and I never got my check until Sunday morning. I suppose I could have waited until I got my next check to go to the bank but I decided to go deposit it on Monday morning. Imagine my surprise when there was already three other cars there ahead of me.
Since it was a rainy and gloomy kind of day I spent the rest of it napping and lounging

Earlier in the pandemic, the bank drive thru lines were so long that they were out on the street! We had a fit trying to find a good time to go there. Rain and gloom are perfect for naps!

It seems like there is never the perfect time to go.

Don't go to the bank, deposit online!

Isn't there a song.."In the good ol' wintertime...?" Wait. I think the song was originally about summer.

Um, there is a little thing nowadays called 'direct deposit' aka EFT, and while I've been away from business accounting for some years now, I do believe it saves on the cost of processing payroll as well. Just an idea...

I take it you're not accustomed to having cars in line at the drive-thru at your bank? It seems we always have cars ahead of us. We went to the bank yesterday and our line looked identical to yours in this photo. I commented to hubby about it too, wondering why people were in line to go to the bank on a Monday at 1pm? The same reason we were, I suppose. :-) I'm so sorry your check was late. I wonder what happened to the mail? ~Andrea xoxo

they closed our bank that we have been using for 31 years, the phyical bank, and both atm drive trhough. sent us a letter, they left 2 bank of america building open, closed all the rest. due to no one using it. the only time i have to go to a bank is if i get a rebate check or someone gifts me a check. everything is direct deposit and that reminds me we got our tax refund in our account last week. all 223.00.. when bob and i first worked for sears the paid us with checks and they got lost and late many times. glad you did get it, but people need their money NOW not days later.

I'm glad you finally got your check. Makes one nervous when the checks don't arrive on time.

I'm glad you had a great day off though.

Have a fabulous first day back at work. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

I was thinking the other day I may not need a car soon with online banking and all the delivery services available to us. lol

I ‘m glad your check came and that you were able to get rested up. Our checks get deposited, which makes it easy.

Were they delayed because of the storms, Ann? That would have been rough for me back in the day...I lived paycheck to paycheck but those days are gone!...jp

Well, I'm glad you finally got it! I would have put it in the bank on Monday too!

I hate the drive thru at the bank and also the pharmacy window these days.

Yep...unlike a lot of northern states, Tennessee is not used to the type of weather we had last week and we tend to have to shut down. Glad you got your check.

Since you do work I think a day of napping and lounging is well deserved.
