Another fun day at work. It just keeps getting better and better. I go into work to find an order for 18 loaves of Italian bread for noon. Order finished no problem. Man comes to pick up order for 18 rolls. I tell him the order was for bread he says no we ordered rolls. I show him order and tell him what the manager had told me about the order, she was there when it was taken. He calls someone on the phone then says to me "I want to speak to a manager, this isn't what we ordered". Now I could have told him that I was the bakery manager but I was pretty sure that if I kept dealing with him I was going to be rude and maybe even let a few HBO words slip. I called the manager and let her take care of it. She tells him the same thing I told him, he has her talk to someone on the phone. Then he proceeded to take packs of rolls off the shelf and leave me stuck with the 18 loaves of Italian bread. Wouldn't have been too big of an issue if my shelves weren't already loaded with Italian bread. This is just one example of why work is pushing me over the edge.
In other news, I'm working on a little project in the house. Part of it involves the room previously known as...
I don't want to say too much other than this has been a long time coming.

I can't WAIT to see what you do with the room, and what kind of room it will turn into. Now, how long till you can retire?
Ooooooh Ann! I think you were very wise to let the other manager deal with this guy... and the-wife-on-the-phone. Lordy! 18 loaves of bread are a whole lot different than 18 rolls, for cryin' out loud! I must admit that if I received an order for 18 loaves of bread, I have a big enough mouth that I probably would have asked the guy what in the world he was going to do with 18 loaves of bread... and maybe that would have caught the guy's error in what he said and he would have said he misspoke and meant 18 rolls instead. But regardless, you were stuck with 18 loaves of bread. Egads! What a way to start the day.
I can't wait to see what your new project is. Do I see a room going from Man Cave to Craft Corner? Hmmm... curious minds can't wait to find out. :-)
XOXOXOXOXO
I'm sorry about the hassles at work, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the room.
When it rains it pours!!! Guess you could use the LOAVES, ROLL up your sleeves, and soak up the rain water with them. Geeze Louise.
You're gonna turn the man cave into a She Shed?!!?!
get the new sign ready! can't wait... did you have a sale to get rid of the bread? like a tray saying we overbaked today, 1.00 or something like that OR give it to the local homeless shelter.. i would have been steaming and did what you did, let someone new try... sorry work has gone as wild as the weather.
Ahh, incidents like this is what makes retirement look so inviting. It will be interesting to see what you do with the Man Cave - you were smart to leave it till you were ready to tackle it - it will be an emotional job I'm sure.
So sorry work sucks lately. Very good idea letting the store manager deal with it. I can't wait to see what you are going to do with the room. I hope it won't be too hard on you to tackle.
I hate that you are having so many issues at work. 18 loaves of bread versus 18 rolls is a huge difference and I can't imagine someone at your job taking that order wrong. I hope you sell the bread!
Ug! That would drive me crazy, too! All that bread! You need a buy one get one free sale and let people put them in the freezer! Looking forward to seeing what you do with that room! I bet it will be fabulous!
Ann, apologies behind with reading, yet again! Looking for the revamp of the Mans Cave...
That really sucked about the order. How frustrating!
