I could be wrong

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that this is a strawberry plant growing next to the tree in my front yard. I have no idea how it got there.

I'm not sure what's up with this weather we're having but yesterday when I left work it was 91 degrees. It seems like we skipped right over spring and jumped into full blown summer. In yesterdays comments Anni said "86° is unheard of for PA this time of year, isn't it?" Well the average high for this time of year is 68 so while the record high was 88 it's not a normal temp for May.

It has been 90 here, too. And is to continue the rest of the week. We have wild strawberries growing in the yard, and this looks like them. Phil thinks they may not taste very good.

Yes, that's definitely a strawberry. I'd think it may be a gift from a bird maybe?

68° sounds so much better!!!

i agree, it looks like a strawberry... that is HIGH temp for your area. we are in the 90's also but for some reason our humidity has dropped and it doesn't feel like 110, we have a strong NE wind coming down and a storm in the Atlantic and a storm in the gulf and they are pushing at each other and keeping us with NO RAIN...we are desperate for rain...what I am wondering is if it is 90 now what will it be in JULY

I think the weather is crazy pretty much all over, Ann. We got from cold to hot and back again seemingly in the blink of an eye. Yesterday was 85*F and who knows what today will be. And yes, I believe that's a strawberry plant too. It will be fun to see if you get any strawberries from it, come June. ~Andrea xoxo

Ann, I just looked it up, and it says the difference is the nick strawberry has yellow flowers, an real has white or tinged pink...

Our weather is also crazy - two days 30C followed by 5C . . . ridiculous!
Whilst our wild strawberries are small they are flavourful - always nice to spot a few and have a wee taste.

The weather is crazy everywhere again! I've heard so many say it's unusually hot, meanwhile here in Florida it's in the 90s too, but we've had low humidity and breezy weather which makes it feel very mind and very unusual for us.

You're getting our heat. It's cold here. It made it to 70 yesterday. We're getting early spring weather and by now we're usually in summer weather.

Have a fabulous day off tomorrow, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

I hope it's a real strawberry...that would be fun. Here we're having fierce winds, and it's snowing in Montana. Crazy weather all over.

That is certainly hot! That's cool on the strawberry plant.

That strawberry plant is thriving. Never heard of a strawberry plant coming up without human assistance. Looks like a couple berries are already on the way!

Yep that's a strawberry plant. Hope you get berries from it.
