Just stuff

Last Thursday I got my second shot so now I am fully vaccinated. The first one my arm was a little sore the next day but no big deal and other than that I felt fine. The second one, my arm hurt a whole lot more and I felt horrible the next day. I was tired and felt like I was getting a cold. I went home after work and slept off and on until bed time. The day after that I felt fine again.

I did ask again about a copay when I went to physical therapy yesterday. She looked it up and printed out a sheet showing what my cost was. She told me I could just wait till the end or until they sent me a bill but I said that I would rather pay as I go because one huge bill at the end was just too hard to do. My copay is $50 for each visit and I'm going twice a week. I think the next time I go I'm going to ask about cutting it back to once a week and I'll do the exercises at home as well.

Today I'm off again because I have another appointment. My mammogram came back as showing a slight difference from the last one I had so now they want to do an ultra sound. I'm not sure what I'll do after my appointment. I may do some running around or maybe I'll just come home. We shall see.

The weather has been a bit damp since Sunday. Sunday morning when I went to work it was pouring. It rained yesterday too and the forecast for today isn't too promising. I suppose we can use the rain though. At least it dried up long enough yesterday for the guys to come and mow my lawn.

Let us know the test results. I had this happen once. They sent me a letter telling me there was a difference, and I had to come in for more images. I had to wait over Thanksgiving to find out. Turned out it was just calcium deposits.

To me personally, the medical field today, is all about making money. "Who cares about the hypocratic oath"?...I have the title of doctor and I need to see patients for the high cost I charge for a 30 minute session, so I can have my two homes, 3 cars, and yacht.

$50 copay x twice a week is $4800 a year out of pocket expense. Ya, I'd consider exercises at home!!

Sorry for the rant.

Interestingly, my second jab left me with more side effects than the first - an especially sore and swollen arm were the main ones although I'm sure my crankiness was due to that as well, lol. I understand that the side effects are indicative of how well our bodies are making antibodies. I hope your further test goes well. I agree with Hootin Annie about greed in the medical profession - actually it seems to reign in every sector. We also are having odd weather - there was actually a frost warning the night before last - really? a frost warning this late in June!!

I would sure cut it down to once a week too, or once every other week if possible. That adds up quick. Good luck with your ultra sound too, let us know how it goes.

I'm in agreement with all the comments that everybody made I read all of them so I won't even say anything about what they said are that I think the same thing. I do know that I had heard on the news that some people had a negative report because of the vaccination so maybe that's what it is. Many years ago when I was maybe 50 they asked me to come back for an ultrasound and there was nothing. I am praying that yours is nothing

We had the J&J, so one and done. I had no side effects at all, but then I never have any reactions to vaccines whereas my husband always does. That is a high co-pay but then I sometimes think I am living in a medical insurance La-La land. My husband had the choice to keep his company health insurance when he retired, which included me, so rather than deal with Medicare and supplemental plans and all that hoo-ha we just kept it. And it is awfully good. I trust the mammogram results will fall into the 'age-related' category which is another way to say - No worries, you're getting old...

We went grocery shopping yesterday and masks were not required if you were vaccinated. It was wonderful not having to have fogged up glasses. It was liberating.

Fingers and toes crossed for a good mammogram. They do tend to scare us now and then. I've gotten that same scare to many times to count.

That's a very high co-pay. Yikes.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

I can't believe the copay is for every visit! They should consider all the PT visits as one! Oh well, I remember when I had PT on my leg I paid a copay every visit. Crazy! Hope all is well with your ultrasound.

In my case, they've had their eye on the same suspicious spot for years. They even did an ultrasound once, but didn't learn anything new.

I'm glad you checked the cost of the PT. Doing a lot on your own but still checking in makes sense.

Years ago I had to go back after a mammogram...it was scary but turned out to be nothing. Fingers crossed.

I agree, that's a lot of money to pay. I have had that call on both breast on different years. It turned out to be nothing and I pray all will be well with you. Take care and I'm praying for you.

Congrats on the vaccination! I'm also fully vaccinated now. I'm thankful I didn't feel a thing both times, except for a sore arm.
