Happy Monday

I need to seriously enjoy today because this is going to be one crazy week. I won't get another day off until next Monday. I do however get to leave early throughout the week so that my overtime is kept to a minimum.

Yesterday I got to leave work at noon which felt really really strange. The other thing that felt strange was that I was training the boss's wife in the deli bakery area. She will be helping out and filling in where needed. Technically she's the new owner of the store but I believe it will be her son who will be doing most of the day to day work.

On another note, yesterday was incredibly hot. Even sitting in the Ann cave it wasn't as cool as it usually is. Then thankfully the wind picked up and we got a nice cooling rain. I put Gibbs's harness on and we went out front for a little bit
We both enjoyed the cooler temp while it lasted. After the rain stopped it didn't take very long for it to heat back up.

You will have to let us know how you like the wife. Gosh, having to be trained so soon after her husband's death!!

I don't think I could make it without air-conditioning, Ann. I admire you greatly! I hope getting off early this week helps make the week a little bit easier for you. I'll be thinking of you & praying for you, my friend. ~Andrea xoxo

I think it is a good thing she is training and her son also, that must mean they intend to keep the store. since you have been his assistant for so many years, you have the knowledge they need. I loved going home early when I was working, almost as good as having a day off

Kudos to the woman to train even though she is probably in shock and still grieving. Nice that you can leave early. I'll take a half day--it's great to be up and moving and maybe get some things done at home.

Yeah, we had 5 seconds of cool after a hard rain yesterday too. I have to give it to the owner's wife for getting right to it although it's better to keep herself busy I'm sure.

Oh wow with training the boss' wife. Is she of the same personality type as her husband? It has to be hard for her to be back to work so quickly after his passing, but maybe it is good to be kept busy? It will be a wild week for you for sure! Glad that it doesn't sound like it will be full days for you and you can get out early on some of them, but still it is that having to get up every day to go to work routine instead of having a day to relax and hang out around home if you choose to.

HI GIBBS....nice to see you. Thank goodness our temps have been staying below 99! haha.....June seems to have been our hottest month so far. We had storms three days in a row. Yesterdays was a lot of wind when took down a lot of limbs and sticks from my trees which requires me to get out and pick those up now. My firepit has gotten sort of high and I need to burn but between lack or rain and then tons of it I have not been able to do that yet. Have not checked the weather today to see if we have more coming in. Hoping that your crazy week is not so bad. Hang in there.

I hope things go well with the changes in your place of work. Always a stressful time when there are changes.

Take care of you, Ann.

Have a fabulous day and week, my friend. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥

Moving forward after loosing a spouse is hard, having a son or daughter help you after is so very special. We never hear enough about the sons and daughters that come to help us in our time of need. Thank you for sharing!

Hope things go smoothly with the training. Probably a good thing for her to keep busy.
Glad you got a cooling rain!
