I'm back, kind of, I think

Excuse my absence but as I said the other day I was dodging curve balls. The biggest of all was the unexpected death of my boss. I talked to him on Friday and he was fine. Saturday morning he had a massive heart attack and was gone. A group of us will be going to the funeral home today.

The second curve ball was the plumbing issue. I blogged about my plumbing problem back on July 5. It took until Monday August 1st to finally have it resolved. I had a leak in my bathroom faucet. I called a plumber on the same day I had posted about it. He came that same day and looked at it. Then it took forever for him to look for a part before he called and asked if I wanted him to order it. Finally he says he's ready to come. Now this could have gone either way. It was either going to be an easy fix or it was going to be a major job where my whole tub would have to be pulled out. Needless to say I was worried that it was going to worst case scenario. So this past Monday he came and luck was on my side. He was able to fix it all for $250.

There are some other minor issues that I need to take care of. The dog still needs to get to the vet and There are some doctor/hospital bills sitting here that need to be paid.

On another note, I use feedly for reading blogs. The past week, give or take, there have been very few blog posts in my feed. I just assumed that people were busy and not blogging. Turns out posts just aren't showing up for some reason. If I haven't been commenting on your blogs it's not because I took time off from that, I just didn't know you had been posting. I'm trying to get to everyone so if I've been missing you let me know.

the feedly thing was killing me, it took 4 days of it before I figured out I wasn't seeing them and they could not see me. it is fixed for now..
I am glad you have someone to go with you to the funeral home and prayers for the family and for those of you who work at the store.. happy days on the plumbing not leaking anymore... woo hoo. we have a leak in the back yard hose thingy and it used to be Bob would have fixed it by now. it is not hurting anything yet but the steady leak makes me crazy thinking of the water.

An unexpected death like that is difficult. My thoughts are with his family.

I got a story about OUR home and contractual work slated for September. A very COSTLY job.

Glad your plumbing is fixed. I don't rely on feeds any more. I have only shortcuts to blogs I visit on my phone. Simpler and I don't miss a post

Oh, Ann, I am so sorry to hear about your boss. So sad! I think sometimes these deaths hit us the hardest. The unexpected, especially one that we know and have dealings with often. I am glad you and other coworkers will be able to go to the funeral. Do you know how old he was?

I do not like dealing with plumbing issues. I'm glad yours was a reasonable fix.

Things can mount up to give us a bit of needing a timeout . Glad you took one for a bit! Blogger is messing up a lot of stuff so I'm not surprised there are problems with you not seeing posts in Feedly.

Take care!

When it rains it pours for sure. I am so sorry about your boss. It is always a shock when someone you know is gone that fast, knowing that when you talked with them they were just fine. Plumbing issue for 250 is not bad, nothing usually carries a bill that small. Not having to have the tub ripped out and put back in was a major plus. The cost of living and having things fixed or repaired makes living on a budget so hard. Hence the reason I work part time after retirement!! lol...

Oh wow, Ann. You certainly have a full plate and a lot of it is emotional stuff.

I'm so sorry about your boss. Good, bad, or indifferent, it not only makes you sad, but then you worry how his absence will impact you at work...where you spend a great deal of time. It's rough.

The financial/house stuff stinks. I'm sorry that you are dealing with all of it and no doubt losing sleep too. You can't help but...right? Make $25/$50 payments on the doctor stuff and communicate with them. They are usually pretty understanding if you talk to them and work out a payment plan.

I will send some prayers that things settle down for you. That is a LOT!

Try using the blogger extension on your blog, to list the blogs you like to check everyday, Ann. You can add it by signing-in to your account, going to blogger-dot-com, click on "layout" in the left-hand column, scroll down and click on "add a gadget", and click on "link list". When you're done adding the url addresses of your favorite blogs, hit "save" and you'll be done.

I'm so sorry about your boss. WOW!! What a shock! I know you talked to him quite a bit, for various things. How old was he? In his 50's, right? Sheesh!!

Hang in there, kiddo! ~Andrea xoxo

I am so sorry about your boss Ann. Very sad and shocking when unexpected things like this happen. You have certainly had a lot of curveballs. Good to hear your plumbing problem was an easy fix. Still a chunk of change I know, and then there’s your medical and vet bills. We have electrical problems right now and wondering about those. The man is coming in the next day or so. I am still getting comments that go straight into my spam folder and have to check every day. There are anywhere between 1 to 5 or 6 that need to be published each day.

I'm so sorry about your boss. What a shame.

You're not the only one with issues with Feedly. I gave that up many moons ago and went with Inoreader (https://www.inoreader.com/). I have the paid one, but if you don't have many feeds it's free. I think you can have 150 feeds for free. It's much nicer than feedly.

I'm glad you got your leak fixed and at a reasonable price.

If you pay just $10.00 a month on the doctor bill they'll take it.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥

Whew, hope things improve for you. I don't use a reader to read blogs. When I post a new post, I visit everyone on my blog list. Glad you lucked out on the plumbing situation. Sometimes things like that end up leading to a major deal with lots of $$$$ signs.

Yes, that's what I thought, that people were not posting much.
