Only 2 weeks to go

The first half of my weekend almost ended without me getting much of anything crossed off my list. We went out in the morning and by the time we got back home I had lost all interest in doing anything.
I think Wade was getting tired of listening to heavy sighs because he suggested several times that I go do some shopping. I took his suggestion and although I did pick up some gifts and cookie ingredients, I found the whole shopping experience to be rather annoying. I don't like going out and trying to figure out what to buy for someone else. It's not much fun.
Back home, with the help of Duke we got the tree decorated. Kind of, sort of. You won't see this tree in the pages of Better Homes and Gardens but it's decorated.

Wade's bear clock wasn't fitting in with the whole Christmas theme on the mantel so I found a Santa hat for papa bear.

I have a grouping of snowmen on both sides of the clock.
Here's the left

and these are on the right
I also managed to address a few cards and believe it or not Wade and I watched Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
Now if I can get myself into the kitchen I'll do some baking.

You got a lot done! Everything looks so nice and neat. I love the snowmen lamp; the one on the left side of the clock.

The clock looks perfect now, and your tree is beautiful!

I love the tree and all your ornaments. They should feature in a magazine called The Warmth of Home :)
and if they'd don't publish one called that, they ought to! :) xx

I think your tree looks lovely (we don't even have one yet). I love the little hat on the bear - what a fun idea!

Those Christmas decorations are terrific. I like tree. I never thought those Better Homes and Gardens have nothing on your tree. At least you have a tree up. Have a great Sunday.

Your decorations are looking great! I always wish we could have a tree, but it's impossible with Sammy around ;-)

Your house looks lovely! The holidays should be about relaxing too! How about a nap this afternoon? I am sure Duke would agree with me.

Let's see - I still love the bear clock even more so with the Santa hat addition - the rest of the decorations are wonderful - I won't even get out the Charlie Brown tree until maybe the 15th. No other decorations this year because the new doors and windows make that kinda impossible and/or a waste of time because they wouldn't be visible to any one - not even us.

I can't believe that you bake at home as well as at work - that's dedication or love!

I think you got a lot done and it's nice that Duke helped you decorate the tree.

Have a terrific day. My best to Duke. :)

It's a lot of work, isn't it? But then again...it all looks so darn nice when it is done. I always have a hard time getting motivated to decorate because you have to move the every day stuff into storage to make room for all the holiday stuff. Ugh. I like your idea of giving the bear a Santa hat--that makes it easier.

I love the Santa hat for the bear. I hope Duke's going to get one too.

I don't know that magazine you mention but I certainly like the tree. There won't be many decorations at my home this year, as the passing of my father is too close and we don't feel like it. I will have to do the shopping though; Christmas is Christmas :)

That's a great idea putting the hat on the bear...cute! Your tree looks very pretty! And I see Duke in that cute sweater. :)
I'm having a hard time with gifts this year, especially for my son.

You and Duke did a wonderful job decorating! We have a pretty bare tree and stockings hung up and that's it. Your snowmen are so cute and the Santa hat on the bear is perfect! That photo of Duke is so cute! Love his sweater!

That bear clock is great, and the Santa hat now makes it perfect for Christmas.

Your decorations are pretty! And we still don't have a tree so you're way ahead of me! I watched Rudolph too - it's my favorite.

I think the tree looks lovely. I never have any rhyme or reason to decorating my tree....I think the 'natural' approach is much nicer!

That clock needed that hat - it's the perfect touch! I love the wintery look you're creating.

Love Rudolph! Now I need to dig out my copy. A little two year old will be visiting tonight and I bet she'll love watching it!
