Holy Purple Cow

I'm feeling a bit like one of the "cool" moms right now. Haven't had that happen in a few years so I'm planning on basking in the sunshine of it all for a bit.
So why am I feeling so cool? Well let me tell you. My daughter Amanda came over last Friday with a friend of hers that I've never met before. So after the introductions Amanda tells me that she showed Brittany my blog and she really likes it. She likes me blog so much that she even bookmarked it. I'm so cool. So any way, Brittany, if you're reading today say hello to all my other cool blog friends.

Now for the purple cow part. Way back when I was a wee cool mom in the making, at the ripe age of about 6 or 7 years old, we did this little presentation for our parents and the rest of the school. Each of us had our turn on stage to recite a poem. I was a very shy child and although I made it through I remember standing there on stage rocking back and forth as I gave my presentation of this poem

I never saw a purple cow
and I never hope to see one.
But I can tell you any how,
I'de rather see than be one.

Don't ask me how or why I remember this because I have no idea.

A very cute poem Ann and I can imagine you standing quite fidgety on that stage trying desperately not to rush the poem but so wanting it over with.

Congrats on the 'cool Mom' status. Once you have been given that title you it can't be taken away again you know!!

The only purple cow over here is the "Milka" Cow (Chocolate)

I was given the 'cool' accolade once by my son's friends. It was because I could draw portraits.

That is in my arsenal along with "As I was going up the stair I met a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh how I wish he'd go away" - or something to that effect.

You're not just a cool Mom, but a cool person!

I know that poem too and I never have understood it either - but it's sure a cute one.

Well things like this happen to all of us. We don't really remember anything useful, but if it's silly it pops right into our heads and then stays there. Bwahahahahaha.

You are cool in my book too.

Have a terrific day Cool Mom. My best to Duke. :)

Of course you're a cool mom. We've all already agreed on that. I love that cute little poem. I bet you were a cool kid too. :)

The creative fun part of your brain snatched the poem up and stored it away to bring out someday in an artful way.

Some of my kids' friends follow my blog as well--they just think that's funny that we do this "blog" stuff. They really like it when I write about them. :)

I always knew you were cool, Ann. Why does it take the kids so darn long to figure it out?

That's too funny about the poem. It's great what sticks with us for years. That's awesome about Brittany, too.

My kids had a book with that poem in it. It was one of their favorites. I might still have it around here somewhere!
Thanks for the memory!

Well, I must be missing something. For you said that you hoped to never see a purple cow, and yet you have one right there for all of us to look at! So, does this mean that you have changed your mind about seeing purple cows? (Yeah, I will always be there to help you get over any temptations of thinking that you may be cool.)
