Today is the first day of the fair in our town. Those of you who've been with me for a while know how I feel about this week. For those of you new around here, let me tell you that this is not a fun week for me. I do a lot of baking at work this week for a few places that sell food at the fair. It's very busy, frustrating and exhausting.
That being said I think it's only fitting that I should post some more index cards today.
The background on this one is a book page. I glued it on and then ripped part of it off. Then I inked over the whole thing and stamped it randomly before gluing on the words and the picture. I finished it off by splattering a little paint on the picture.
The background on this one is torn strips of masking tape stuck to the index card randomly until it was covered. Then I inked it up a bit. I used a strip of burlap ribbon under the picture. On the picture I inked the edges then spread a little glue around the outer edge and sprinkled it with glitter.
The background from this was made purely by accident. I've been experimenting with aluminum foil (more on that later) and when I went to wipe the black paint off the foil I noticed it made a nice impression. I grabbed a blank index card and used it to remove paint from my foil. When it was dry I added various colors of inks before gluing on the words and picture. The steampunk lady was a freebie that came along with a coloring page. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the talented man who drew this.

you are getting more and more creative with every card you create. are you going to sell these at your next craft show? i love the first one, the words and the art...
I can understand that that must exhausting! The vintage ladies look great on the cards :)
I do know how you hate this week and we'll celebrate when it's over. Well after you sleep for a couple of days.
Love the snarkiness. A lot.
Have a fabulous day. Big hugs to you and my very best to Gibbs. ♥♥♥
I like hearing about your 'process'. What does 'inking' mean? In some art forms it means coloring in the drawn images (much like a coloring book) but these don't look like that is what was done. 'Splain please? Loving #'s 2 and 3.
It's good you have this outlet for your frustrating week! I love that one about opinions not mattering!
All those techniques have worked so well!
I have this image of you STAMPING really, really hard on these things...taking out your frustrations of the week....
This week is almost over, right? Well, it's just about Hump Day. Hope you make it, my friend!
Love them! You sure do know how to put things together. The second one is my favorite, but I like the lady in the bottom one.
You have so many different techniques and tricks you use! I would never think to do any of them. I love them. Hope your week isn't too bad!
Love them. Can't believe you don't like the fair. We have a few around I just ignore.
We just had Fair week over Labor Day - I enjoyed my time there but then again I didn't have to bake or serve food at the fair so I was free to just have fun.
As for your cards here that 1st one is hilarious!
More to love! So glad you posted that one today which led me to these via your suggestion.
