Oh what a beautiful morning

I could not have asked for a more perfect day off yesterday. The morning started out at 71 degrees and at 6:30 am I headed up the street for my first walk. This picture makes it look darker than it really was.

I carried my phone with me instead of my good camera simply because it's easier to carry. I can slip it in my pocket and pull it out when I want to take a picture. Boy did I take pictures too. I'm pretty sure I have enough pictures to carry me through the week for blog posts.

When I got back home I started some laundry did a little cleaning up and read some blogs. By 9:30 I was ready for another walk and I took a long one. I reached my goal of 10,000 steps by 10 am.

I actually took a third walk and did a 15 minute work out with  my walking DVD. I was full of pep and even at 6 pm I was still full of energy. It's so nice to not be laying on the couch feeling like I'm 90 years old.

Good for you! My doctor told me it is hard to get going, but in the long run you will feel more energetic!

The sky is amazing! The other morning we had a fantastic sunrise, but I failed to take a photo.

good girl.. I think this energy is coming from eating the right foods and the more you walk the more you can. so glad you had a good day off. wow on 10000 by 10 am..

That walking becomes a habit after a while.Keep it brisk, your heart rate determines exercise, not amount.I go somewhere different to make it more interesting always.Sounds like you have it down well.

what a beautiful morning! thanks for sharing. :) how do you have all that energy??? did you buy a fit bit? I've been looking at those. I feel like I'd be more active if I were challenging myself and could keep track of my steps. :)

btw I need a pool..lol my docs recommend me to exercise in the pool, it's good for everyone, but will help me since I have herniated discs in my cervical spine and one in my lower back. I need to hang with you in your pool :)

Walking was always my favorite form of transportation - good for soothing my soul and getting where I wanted to go - but the Fates decreed that taking my happy away from me was supposed to teach me some sort of lesson(?). Walking is no longer in my skill set - I mean I can get around but not far and not for long. It just kills me. Enjoy those walks just for the joy of walking.

Good for you on the walking routine. Just wished you lived in my neighborhood so you could get my butt moving also!

Loved that cake - you decorated it right? I did cake decorating in another life and even took a week long class in making gum-paste flowers. By the way ... looking at that cake makes me want to have a big bite of something sweet ... so thanks Ann ... I'm off to the pantry to find something to curve that sweet tooth!
