Playing with fire

Last night  for lack of something better to do, I played with the camera. I was trying to get a good picture of a candle flame. It wasn't working out the way I wanted.

Either the flash went off and it looked like this

Or no flash and the flame just looked like a bright blurry blob.

I played with different settings including the manual setting. Still haven't got everything figured out yet but that's ok. More excuse to keep playing.

  1. Lots of different ways to snap it! I turn the flash off and do macro.

  3. That first picture may look better than you think. When I first saw it I thought the flame was moving.

  8. the best way to get the flame with your new camera is put on the long lens, stand about 8 feet away and use zoom to focus on just the flame. you can't get a clear photo of flame and the candle holder. that is really hard. sent in a chair and practice zooming on small things, hold the button down and keep trying to get it to focus. I did that for hours. the short lens will work, just play a few feet away and use zoom on it to...
