Enough already

Last week my neighbors had a bunch of stuff sitting out by the curb. I watched this girl stuff a few things in her vehicle. She had to keep rearranging things to fit them in because she already had all kinds of junk in there. A few hours later I see her back again. It looked like she took some of the junk out of her vehicle but there was still way too much already in there. I watched her stuff in a tv, a table, 4 chairs and possibly something else.

Hey chica, you forgot one.

ha ha on the left behind... she is probably having a yard sale and selling things, I new a family that drove around and did this picking up at the curbs and they had a yard sale every Saturday, did really good.. the left behind would be good as a display table for the sale

HAHA....THAT WAS ME! LOL.....kidding. I don't take it all I just pick and choose! HAHA. I am learning though to just cruise by slowly and look, and most times I am going right on by it all. Got enough of my own crap to get rid of that I sure don't need to bring more home....although you have seen my post, I do my share.

My dear husband and I did this too, but didn't take everything. He could not stand to see good metal or anything usable going to the landfill. We sold a lot, used a lot and I've still iron and wood to be gotten rid of. It's been 5 1/2 years since he left this planet, and I miss his coming home with goodies he found curbside. I don't find much as I'm not on the road much since losing my job about 3 years ago. Finding treasures is such fun.

I should do a post one day about some of the pieces that are in my little cottage that were curbside found pieces.

Have a great week dear Ann ~ FlowerLady

We call those people "Sanford and Sons" from the old show where the story line revolved around a junkman. We love to put stuff out and count the minutes until they show up. I guess the earth needs junk collectors to keep it out of the landfill...so we shouldn't giggle.

People do that and often it just sits there. I think she's a hoarder.

Have a fabulous day, Ann. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

Well, at least it's leaving the curb. And now... I am once again caught up on blogs. Wonder how long that will last.

Just no more room - that looks like a useful table. Nothing wrong with a little curbside shopping. The china closet I have, which everyone admires, was a little something my grandmother picked up 'curb shopping' well over 100 years ago!

This girl didn't look too picky she wanted it all

I remember that show. Now I will think of Fred Sanford every time I see someone picking up junk

Hoarder or she sells on one of Facebook's garage sale sites

Ann Thompson said...

That's true. Less to go in the landfills

I would pick stuff up if I ever saw anything good. I'm not as lucky as other people are to find good stuff though

It amazes me how one person's junk is another person's treasure... I'm too old for my JUNK (or treasures) in my home.... I need to downsize instead of adding more stuff.....

Hugs,
Betsy

Our neighbors' garage looks like the back of that van! That much junk gives me hives!

Some people just can't resist anything (Free) whether they need it or not. My hubby once put a box of wood scraps out by the curb with a sign that said, Free and within one hour it was gone.

I hear you. I want to start going through my house and getting rid of junk

Ann said...

Oh me too. I mean I know I have way too much stuff but I don't think I've reached hoarder stage yet

I can't tell you how many times people have stopped to pick up stuff we put out with the garbage. Some will come to the door and ask and others just grab and go.
