Numbers

Here we go again. The magic number is 6. The customer who ordered that awful combination of yellow, pink, purple, blue and orange ordered another cake. Again, the awful color combination.

I was told by the person who took the order that those are apparently the favorite colors of each of the granchildren.

It's seems to me since it's Papas birthday, the cake should be HIS favorite color.

You are right, it should be HIS favorite color! It does sound like a bad color combination, but yet it looks so pretty on the cake!! It seems to all go together nicely.

Beautiful lettering and roses, but it would look better without some of the colors.

The colors are too much (for me)...but your creation is well done.

I realize this is a big pain in the patootie for you but that is a gorgeous cake!

I think it's a pretty cake and nice to know the reason behind so many colours.

everytime I see a post about these colors, I think, I have never in my life special ordered the colors of a cake. I just said a girl cake, a boy cake, a retirement cake etc... back in mid 70's I went to a cake decorating class and that year I mad a pirate ship and a 4th of july doll cake with a big skirt for my aunt's july birthday.... never made another one, went back to calling for a non custom cake. OR let my mother bake one, which is what I did most of the time. this is way to many colors for my liking and I agree it does look beautiful. are you showing these to your boss and asking about charging more?

They keep coming back but I can see why. The cake is lovely.

Such a beautiful cake! I kind of like all the colors...looks a little rainbow-ish! HA

You sure have the talent...I really think they should have to pay extra for sp many colors...

I'm with Rose--can't you charge extra for more than 2 colors? It certainly takes more time and effort...and supplies??

Either way, you do beautiful work, Ann!

Beautiful cake for sure, but all those different colors.

Have a fabulous day off, Ann. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

I think it is a lovely idea to have all of the grandchildren's favorite colors on the cake, maybe Papa likes that too. Obviously they like your work or they wouldn't have come back. I like how you have the two sprays of flowers on the sides in the same colors. Nicely done and you have a pleased customer coming back.

Ginny, that's what I'm thinking

CheerfulMonk my thoughts exactly

Anni, totally agree, I think less colors would look much better

Grace, thank you very much

Gayle, this person does order frequently. I suppose I shouldn't complain since it is my job.

Ann well thank you

Lin I could ask the boss but it's easier just to go with the flow and complain about it on the blog...lol

Sandee, thanks

I don't mind the colours although the yellow around the edge a bit odd...I would a colour that made the rest of it pop...

That is a lot of tedious work. You do such pretty work. Poor Papa - wonder what he would have chosen to have on HIS cake?? lol Hope you are having a good start to the week.

Actually I think the cake looks pretty and the fact that those are the grandchildren's favorite colors is rather cute. Of course it doesn't look very masculine.
