Last Thursday

When I had my heart stent put in I was told that I should stop taking the meloxicam that was prescribed for my arthritis. I did but that just made the arthritis pain worse. I called both the cardiologist and the primary and got no response. I finally just made an appointment with my primary and I went last Thursday.

That I know of, I have arthritis in my hands, neck, knees and hip. Currently my neck isn't bothering me, the pain in my hands is manageable, the knees are hit or miss but the hip pain has been awful.

After seeing my primary, she thinks that there is something more than just arthritis going on. By the time this posts I will have gone for x-rays and hopefully know more of what the problem is and maybe a solution.

I can't take any anti-inflammatory meds but she did prescribe an gel that is much safer. It also comes in an over the counter strength and is called Voltarin.

I am so tired of not being able to do things I used to do. I know with age we have more issues but it's just been bringing me down. Even simple tasks like house work or grocery shopping.

I have used Voltarin. I know what you mean, I need a wheelchair or scooters in large stores, and I cannot walk foe even a minute without holding onto a cart or something. It is so hard wanting to do the things you always did, but can't anymore. But I'm glad for the test, maybe they can control your pain. The first step to helping it is to get a proper diagnosis. And there is always the pain clinics, they have multiple ways to control pain.

I am so sorry about all this Ann. It’s very frustrating not being able to do the things we once did. I am also very unsteady on my feet and use a stick and sometimes a walker. I hope they will sort out your meds soon.

I'm sorry to hear this, Ann. I hope the doctors/specialists can find some answers and provide some relief. Pain is so wearing.

I've found that unless your doctor has experienced a little of what You are going through...they are clueless about how it feels. The younger the doctor, the less they feel. Mine is young...so I haven't yet hit him with my back pain. lol

I'm so sorry to hear that you have so much pain. A few years ago I started taking an herbal supplement Zyflamend. It works to get all of the inflammation out and I know it works for me. I hope you can find relief soon.

Oh Ann I am so sorry to read about how much pain you are in now. My mom was unable to take arthritis medication because of her heart condition but the doctor put her on Voltarin as well. Pray it helps you. Also praying that they can get to the bottom of your hip concern. Take care friend. Sending you a hug!

Understand the arthritis pain. I'm on a drug that's suppose to have no heart issues - it's Orencia. Maybe your doctor can look into it. It's been a great help after having to get off another drug due to some heart issues.

Ann, I so hate to break the news to you, downhill from here. All this that is going on will not get better, and if it does something else will happen. Esp if you are taking new stuff. I love how you take this for that and then this makes something else go wrong.Hang in there, you will learn to cope.

Isn't it crazy how to fix one thing you have to give up something that helped another issue? Hoping your test all come back good, but yet with an answer that the doctor can fix for you. Prayers for you Ann

So sorry about that. I have recently gone to pain management. I was there once before for my back. Now it is for sciatica in my left leg. I will be going to their surgery center in August where they inject medication into the area. However, it sucks that I have to wait until August since this started in April and I'm in horrible pain, on top of the pain I get from my ankle. Not a happy camper here. Hope you get some relief.

I do hope you find causes that the doctor can help...I think that says it right. I sure do feel your pain...do you know if they found out anything from the xrays"

Your last paragraph is one that I have said out loud recently. I hope you find relief for your pain.
