I've got plenty of weeds around me. Just because it's a weed doesn't mean it isn't pretty though.
Then there are things that aren't weeds but they aren't looking so good. This Hosta plant is looking kind of sad with lots of brown on the leaves and tons of weeds growing in and around them. I just haven't had the strength or the energy to get out there and do any weeding this year. It's looking pretty sad in my yard.

The weeds are really pretty and the cultivated plants are not!
I like weeds - they're the survivors of the natural world.
They weren't considered weeds until around the 60's and 70's when the 'perfect' lawn was introduced to our culture. My back yard is full of 'weeds' and I love them. We do have two front beds that I keep free of stragglers and my garden beds but that is it.
the Dandelion looks so happy and welcoming...we never have good luck with Hostas...either the heat or the wascally wabbits destroy them.

dandelions are pretty in their own way and not only are they pretty, they do have many uses... My hostas never do anything but wilt and die. I really like them but evidently they do not like me...
I love dandelions!
Oh Ann, I totally get you on the weed project. I find myself not even wanting to look out the back windows since the weeds have taken over and I don't think Dave is ever going to do the work he used to do out there. I will give it a try soon but this hot weather is too daunting to begin now.
Praying for your pain and lack of umpff. I understand.
(((hugs)))

Hosta's are pretty and they grow pretty easily - but you are always having to cut off the dead and replant and thin them - WORK. Sandie/Chatty
That's true, some weeds are very pretty. Sorry about your Hosta plant. It's okay, you've been dealing with your own health issues. ((HUGS))
Weeds are wildflowers right? :) They look beautiful! Our hostas are looking just like yours. You definitely shouldn't be getting out to weed with the heat we have been having, or even weeding until your doctor gives you the okay. Listen to Aunty, lol! and you can kick me later ;)
Weeds are flowers to me. They seem to survive better too.
