Woodcock Dam part 2

After leaving the nature trail I went across the road and headed towards the dam. You walk across the top of it and I'm not sure how far it actually goes but I didn't go the whole way.

This one is heading over towards the dam

Here is the road/trail that goes across the top of it

It was such a pretty area. The view from one side

And the view on the other side

After I left here I went to  KFC for lunch. When I walked in the girl behind the counter pointed out their senior menu for 65 and over. I could have pointed out to her that I wasn't quite that old just yet but instead I figured 62 was close enough and I took the deal.

A four day weekend.

I was feeling more than ready for a little vacation time so I took a 4 day weekend from Friday 7/26 through Monday &/29. Usually when I take time off I make plans to do things and then end up sitting at home just wasting the time. This time I was bound and determined to make the most of it.

It started on Friday. This was just a "me" day. I drove to Woodcock dam and did a little walking. I'm breaking this down into 2 different posts and today I'll show you pictures of my walk through the nature trail.

I don't know how far I walked but after I climbed over two down trees across the trail I decided it was probably a good idea to turn around and head back.

It was a rather warm day but walking through the woods it was nice and cool.

I don't know if this is a tree that was growing this way or tree roots but I thought they looked rather cool.

This was the beginning of the trail.

This last picture was about where I ended up turning around and going back. I had gone down a hill to get to this point so it was quite a climb to get back to the top.

More furniture moving

I guess I didn't get enough of it when I moved my desk around. I did the living room as well. The couch has been in the same spot since I got it so it was time to move things around.

Next I decided to take a panoramic picture of the entire area. This level of my house is the living room, dining area and kitchen. I sat in the rocking chair that's in the bottom right corner of the above picture and started snapping.

I'm hoping that you can open this picture up and see it a little bigger. About middle of the picture, the open door leads down to the basement and the Ann cave. Behind that door is the stairs that leads up to the bedrooms and bathroom. It's nothing fancy and it sure could use some work but it's all mine and I call it home.

Presto chango

Here we are changing into the month of August already. That's not the only thing changing though.

I posted a while back about buying the smaller desk and I mentioned that I might tweak the arrangement. I lived with it for a little over a month the way I had it, then decided to switch it around and see if I liked it better. I flipped the desk and the shelves to opposite walls and now I like this way a whole lot better.

Now when I'm sitting at the desk I'm facing into the Ann cave instead of facing the other half of the basement with a view of the washer and dryer. This setup will also work much better when I'm using my Cricut machine since the cord that plugs into the computer will be able to reach without having to move the cart right in front of the desk.

I haven't been the least bit bothered by the fact that I have way less desk space than I used to. As a matter of fact it's been a wonderful change since my desk is always neat now instead of being filled with clutter.
