Looking back

Recently, Jude from Mature not senile posted about a new member in their family. She is mom to a little white Westie, just like Duke. She was asking about how long it took for Duke to get all fuzzafied (my word, not hers) and so I decided to take a look back at some old pictures of him. All I could find were some that I had either edited in some way or put into a scrapbook page but I'm going to share those with you today.

This was one of those edits done in my early learning stages. Extractions still aren't my strong point but I can hide it a little better now. I'm pretty sure that was taken the day we brought him home. He was such a little cutie I fell in love the minute I saw him.

His eyes look blue here but they really aren't.

The date on this file was January 2008

I'm pretty sure this one was taken shortly before he got his very first Westie cut. I sort of like him all shaggy looking but it drives Wade nuts so we do get him groomed just not as often as we should.  The background paper for this layout is a picture of the forsythia bush with the cave opening....lol Wish I could remember who's kit I used to make the layout so I could add a link but I have no clue. If this is yours let me know and I'll give you credit.

Cute as can be... and I loved the little talk you had with him the other day and his decision to allow you to get some adorable pictures!

I used to have a Westie too - she however never developed the thicker fur. They should, I believe, have very fine hair or fur and a thicker layer of hair or fur which protects them from the colder weather. My poor little Westie only had the very finest of hair or fur. Although she was registered with a pegigree I was advised by our vet at the time that he thought that she had most likely been bred in a puppy farm. He said that when buying dogs or cats it is advisable to see the parents and the litter at home. To see what circumstances they are kept. She sadly is no more - she was always very timid and had another little dog for company. She was very sweet ....

That was wonderful! I wonder if A&E would be interested in doing a documentary about Duke? No, Animal Planet is too lame. So, don't be goin' there!

Well he just went from one stage of cuteness to the next, didn't he? That last photo of him by his *cough* Man Cave seems to have captured his personality perfectly; he really is absolutely adorable :o)

Those photos are great Ann, Duke is adorable. I was checking Obie out better and I can see where their supposed groomer clipped him around his face and head and messed him up, poor little thing looks pitiful, hopefully in a few months he'll be handsome like Duke. Thanks for the link and I always love looking at Duke photos. I love the shaggy look also.

That little dude is ADORABLE!! Do they shed a lot? What about training? Easy? Medium? Hard? Or not in a million years? :o)

I have 3 labs. Those buggers shed like you would not believe. I can sweep and mop in the morning, and by bedtime it looks like it was never done.

Just wondering, because I'm looking for a good, smaller, less hairier dog. For next time. How morbid is that?

As for my camera...not figuring it out too much. Just kind of lucky when I get a good shot. And I have to take HUNDREDS of pictures to get a good one, lol!!

How strange is this? After drooling over your adorable dog here, I was visiting a friend and her husband this afternoon only to discover that they got a new dog--a she-Westy named Daisy. Cutest and sweetest puppy--a pure bundle of love!! Now I REALLY want one of my own!!

Oh, Duke!

I love you, no matter how fuzzy or groomed (or un-groomed you are).

That first layout is so sweet; but they're all good.

I should really try getting creative with my sweet cats. They deserve better than my blurry photos!

What a cutie! I'm more a big dog person myself though. But if you are going to have the dog in the house - small is the way to go.

Miawa said...

Awe! he was just as cute then but my what a difference. He looks so much more 'mature' now.
