Lake Erie Speedway

I can't believe I did it again, but I took my camera and forgot to put my memory card in it. Luckily I also packed my point and shoot so I at least got some pictures when we went to the races last night. The worst part is that not only did I forget to put the memory card in but I failed to notice the flashing warning on the camera. I joyfully took at least a couple dozen pictures with my Sony before I realized my error. Oh brother, you think I would learn.
Any way, I said I did take my point and shoot. I brought home tons of blurry shots and a few that I can post here. Before the races started they brought out the big flag for the national anthem. I love the way they did this. Not only with the flag but as the woman was singing they set off fireworks and a canon when she got to "And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,"

The worst part was having to shoot through the fence. Didn't make for the best pictures. This was the winner from the Legends division

I couldn't tell you if these were  the late models or the street stocks. First, I'm not real up on all that stuff and second from the quality of the picture I wasn't real sure. Makes no difference though, they were all fun to watch.

Last but not least, the beer guy.
I have no idea why I took this picture, it was just one of those have to snap kind of moments.

These pics are really clear, sharp and good. I don't see how you could have done better with your bigger camera. The night one is excellent. And the beer guy is a cool part of the whole experience, so Americana!!! I just love the flag picture!!! It is great even through the fence. i almost feel like I had been there.

ah, that's usually what I do, forget the camera. Good thing you got the other one. We sure are spoiled with our new camera.

I have never been to a racing event like this in my life, but I can feel the "buzz" through your photos -- which btw are perfectly fine!

I love the last shot, the have to snap kind are my most fun ones. I have done the no card flashing light, but only at home. and on my Rebel can't figure how to get out the ones in the camera, they have been there for a year. just back yard. i need a camera that slaps me if the battery needs charging or the card is not in.

I wonder why the beer guy looked like you were a familiar face? I suppose you are going to say that he was actually looking at Wade--aren't you?

Looks like you had fun...lest we forget the "beer guy" LOL - that almost sounds like the title of a movie: The Beer Guy (i.e. the Cable Guy)

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Labor Day. Thanks for your kind words about Mr. Bloomers. I'm going to try to be a better blogging buddy - I've just not been on the computer much...hope Duke's ok - did you take him with? (probably not - too much commotion)...my boy is such a big comfort to me!
Love you,
Doris and Gizzy :-)
