Are you kidding me?

This is not the post I was planning on doing for today but this one is just too good to not share now. I will say that this is not one of my shining moments but the stupidity and lack of attention is just too funny. Really, you can't make this kind of stuff up.

So Monday morning I decide I'm going to do a little more work on the glass jars. I had the jar and the mod podge sitting side by side on my desk.

I was preparing the napkins to adhere to the jar. I had them laid out on their individual pieces of plastic wrap and I had just spread the mod podge on the back of the napkin. I reached up and grabbed the jar and laid it on my lap, picked up the plastic wrap with the prepared napkin and went to place it on the jar. The problem came in when I realized it was the open jar of mod podge sitting on my lap, NOT the glass jar I was supposed to be decorating. These are the pair of pants I had on.

And here is the puddle on the floor. Luckily I have one of those clear chair mats there and this spilled on that instead of the carpet.

Now, I have 2 questions for you once you get up off the floor and stop laughing at me.
1) Did I clean up the mess first or finish applying the napkin to the correct jar?
2) Did I wipe that mod podge up off the floor or scoop up as much as I could and put it back in the jar?
Tomorrow I'll tell you what I did

Sounds like something I would do! I think you finished what you were doing and saved all the modpodge you could! I love the jar! Wishing you a nice day, Ann.

you finished applying the napkin, then you scooped as much as you could back in the jar, then you wiped it up off the plastic first and last took off the ruined pants. YOU COULD have placed the napkin in the modgepodge on your pants as a decoration. IT WAS hard to get up off the floor after rolling around laughing. how could you have a senior moment when you are not a senior yet?

you are right, it was to good to save it

As soon as I read through to the first picture, I knew what happened next LOL So something I would do! I would probably clean up first but I'm betting you finished the project first. I have no idea about Modge Podge or it's consistency or how it sets...But a pair of old sweat pants and a plastic floor protector - not worth as much as a finished project.

You must have been day dreaming:)

Have a fabulous day and thanks for the laughs. Big hug to you and tons of scritches to Gibbs. ♥♥♥

Oh I am so sorry but the best thing to do about that, laugh! I poured paint water from a project I was working on right in the middle of the hall floor. I grabbed a towel to clean it up and started to get mad at myself, I was tired and wanted to get the project done...instead I just laughed and went on about my job.

you cleaned it up pronto, look how fast you changed clothes. LOL

Mod Podge is pretty much the same consistency as elmers glue. It might be a little thinner. As a matter of fact I would almost guess that they probably have about the same ingredients in them.

LOL, I don't know what I was doing but it sure wasn't paying attention to what I was doing.

Always happy to share a laugh

Yep, all you really can do is laugh at yourself. No use crying over spilled mod podge...lol

I was dripping glue all over the place...lol

I can see myself doing something like this! I bet you did apply the napkin first unless it was stuck to the mod podge jar already and then you scooped up some of that mod podge to save! Same as I would do. :)

It was certainly not one of my best moments but it made me laugh more than anything

I certainly would have started cleaning it up. Not sure about saving it from the floor. I take a gummie fiber thing each day. Right next to it is a powdered item I take with water for my osteoarthritis. One day I grabbed the wrong one and dumped the powder into my hand and all over the floor!

That sounds about right, sounds like what I would do anyway. Waste not, want not. :)

You just have to laugh and if you can't laugh at yourself, well, you haven't lived yet I guess. :) Thank you for sharing this one Ann. Have a lovely rest of the week.
